I have tried to claim twice. The first time I got a quote from a dentist of R10200, Stratum accepted an amount of R9000 towards the claim. However when it came to paying the claim they only paid R5000 and you cannot get hold of them and they dont reply on your emails... I also tried to submit a claim for a emergency root canal (which they supposedly cover), it was a Sunday and obvious Stratum is closed so my wife who had very bad pain went for an emergency root canal, afterwards I tried to claim and this is the response they sent me: "I have spoken to a manager and we have decided to override the stale claim. Unfortunately there was no authorisation for the root canal done." How do I get authorisation on a Sunday??? They say they cover emergency procedures as well but if you have an emergency I suppose you should wait a week for the approval first....

Momemntum promises you R1000 in health contribution every month should you be on private club and have a fitness assesmnet of level 5. However to get on a level 5 you need a perfect score in 5 categories like lung capacity, hip to waist ratio etc. Should you get a perfect 5 they will still put you on a level 4 and nobody from their customer services department has any idea as to why you are on a level 5 and apparently they cannot do anything about it.

At first I was told my fat percentage is too low 11.6. Then I showed them their requirements that says 20-21 OR below 12. After that they told me my lung capacity is too high. Should be > 605, I am on a 665. So apparently 665 is not more than 605...

Now nobody can do anything or explain to me why. So just know that you will never be on a level 5 and get the R1000 a month as promised.

I bought one of those Makita drill box sets from makro a couple of months ago. The drill then stopped working after a while. I returned it to Makro and Makro sent it to Makita for repairs. Upon receiving the drill back their was a hand scratched engraving of a job number on the side of the drill. I took it back to Makro as this is unacceptable. Then today someone phoned me from Makita's workshop trying to explain why they do it and also said that I never told them not to scratch on it.

Personally this is ridiculous! That is why they invented a serial number and PC's to keep track of items. You do not send in your car to a dealership and ask them to please not scratch their job number on it..!! I mean come on....
I was looking at moving all telecommunications products over to Telkom. Their deals look very promising and wanted to move ADSL and cellphones (SmartHome, business and cellphone deals) over to Telkom. That is a combined R3000 I wanted to spend at Telkom pm. I have tried online applications a week ago (no response as yet). I went to the store on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and the shortest queue was 4 people in front of me where helping 1 customer takes approximately 20-30 minutes. I also tried only chat, they only give me numbers to contact. Those numbers when you phone them at 10:00 in the morning says they are currently out of office hours as their office hours are 08:00 to ... Strange how 10:00 is before 08:00. The next day I tried calling multiple times and after 20 minutes on hold I put the phone. If taking out contracts with Telkom is is such a mission, imagine the service when they already have you signed up for 24 months....
