Last month I saw my credit score go down and I didn't know what was the cause I was shocked when I received my credit score again this month that it had gone down again and a default payment was added that I had an account with International Colleges Group, I have never applied for this loan I have a suspicion that my information was used to create this fraudulent account. if anyone can assist in how to correct this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
I have been battling for in excess of 6 months to have this matter resolved. I opened an MTN data package in August 2020 and within the prescribed 7 days I returned the router to an MTN Store in Mall of the south because I have no coverage in my area. (See attached Document) I then phoned and as I was instructed to follow up and was told that they needed to wait for a few days to receive the documentation and they would call me back. (Which never Happened) I then received a bill for the account at which time I called and asked what was going on as I had returned the device within the prescribed period and was then told I need a returns reference number which was not on the original document. Returns Ref #3463362 is the number I had to then get from the store in Mall of The south because they had closed down shortly after I returned the router and were taken over by new people. Long story short I then phoned in December 2020 and spoke to Maria Matso Retentions who gave me a cancellation Ref 296771104 and assured me that the account was closed. Yes the debit was stopped however I still received a bill at the end of December which I then called again and said if this account was closed why am I still getting a bill. I spoke to Valemena who said she sent an Email to her Supervisor reference 296925556 and nobody got back to me. At the end of December my account was not debited however I received another bill in January and again at the end of January my account was not debited. Yesterday I received another bill and my credit report and have noticed that MTN has reported me to have defaulted payment. This has affected my credit score. I today sent an email to MTN Sales(Mondo) (No response ) Customer Care (No response ref#4179210) Retentions (No response ref# 4179283) only the automated email responses. I then decided to call I held on for almost an hour and got through to Lesego Meropa who said she could not access the Old System Access Cannot Assist, She then transferred me to an agent on new system when transferred I got through to Mpho she then said I need to speak to accounts and when she transferred my call I was told that I needed to dial 083135 and was told good by and the call cut.
I bought a 2gb Data bundle for my prepaid line & shortly after the Purchase I got an sms saying I had been rewarded 2gb off peak 7pm to 7am data. In my excitement I made sure I downloaded stuff from the internet Starting at 7:06pm that evening. To my surprise I then received an sms saying that my once off data that I had paid for was depleted. Upon phoning them I spoke to a rep who couldnt answer why this was the case I the requested to speak to his supervisor who first told me I was out of 3g Range(Lies because I checked coverage as we spoke) told me that I needed to restart my phone in order to access this data bundle. I bought a second 2gb bundle, I proceeded to request that a complaint be lodged for my purchased data to be refunded. I then received an SMS the next day that said I had been rewarded a further 2gb data which of course i made use of but without restarting my phone the data was used correctly. I then got a call saying they would look into my request for a refund on the basis of my explanation. I received a call today saying they will not refund me my data because I used the second rewarded data. Funny thing is my wife got 2 rewards too she only bought once??
