Recently had to have the passenger-side mirror replaced on my vehicle. The consultant JP was very nice and professional, good advice, some good car banter (indicating he knows his stuff) and even assisted with some masking tape on the old mirror's damage while we placed the order for the new part to arrive (necessary to protect the motors and electronics in the mirror housing). Fitment of the replacement parts once they arrived was very quick and painless. This is the third time I've happily used this branch's services, and I'll recommend them to anyone.
I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. I would warn anyone from doing business with this company, especially if there are body corporates involved which further complicate matters. Save yourself a lot of headaches and money. Their work does not last, despite a supposed 10 year guarantee, and trying to hold them to that guarantee is very nearly impossible, they always shift blame. Their customer service is shocking and they are difficult to reach at the best of times. For almost 10 years I've had problems with the balcony of the unit above mine leaking into my main bedroom. SBS had to redo the waterproofing after getting them, through massive effort with the assistance of the owner of the unit above me, to honour their supposed workmanship guarantee. They always try to lay the fault with something else, anything else, beside their work, leading to unnecessary repair costs. To make matters worse, even though I am the one suffering damage, I had to deal with the owner above me as well, as it is their balcony and they need to authorise all repairs. Here is how things unfolded over the course of YEARS. When we complained that their waterproofing was not working, first, we had to fit gutters, at our cost, which we did. Problem not solved Then the water was supposedly coming in through the weepholes, so we had to fit weephole covers at our cost. Problem not solved. Then it was supposedly the water outlets on the balcony, so SBS enlarged those and fitted bigger outlet pipes. Problem not solved. Then it was supposedly because the outlets, which they had enlarged and modified, were blocked and bypassing their supposedly working waterproofing on the balcony. Then it was supposedly a housing unit for gas canisters on the balcony which was allowing water to leak in and bypass their supposedly working waterproofing on the balcony. Solution: "Just keep it covered". Then, when it was insisted they do a flood test to do a formal diagnostic, it was complaints about "costing their company money". The owner above refuses to proceed with paying for the flood test, even though I offered to pay half. So no I am left up the creek without a paddle yet again. Every time it rains, I am anxious and wait and see whether further damage will occur. I've already repainted twice at my cost. This review is the last weapon I have left in my ****nal. I no longer wish to deal with this company or their owners and management, and all I can do now is warn anyone against doing business with them on whatever platform I can. Perhaps someone will Google them before engaging their services, and this review may pop up and save them a lot of heartache.
I am NO LONGER an Edgars account holder, having closed my account months ago due to being tricked into Edgars Club by someone phoning me saying they want to send me a \Welcome Pack\". Next thing, charges started appearing on my account. Nonetheless, I list what used to be my account number in this report for reference purposes.<br> <br> However, the past few weeks I have received multiple calls from number 021 492 5204/021 492 5200, which a net search revealed to be from Edgars, with no one on the other end and the call just disconnecting after you pick up - a tell-tale call-centre/marketing call trait. This happens multiple times a day, even on weekends.<br> <br> Please immediately remove my number from your database, as I am not signing up for any Edgars services again given past experience, and these calls are becoming a serious nuisance, especially since I cannot opt out via phone if no-one is on the other end."
