Hi, I would just like to share my experience with you of Solar Start in Hout Bay. Last year December I bought an inverter which the owner of the shop told me was a Pure Sinewave inverter with which I would be able to run my TV and other electronics from a deep cell during load shedding. I took it home and that day there was load shedding. Unfortunately there was extremely bad electrical buzzing sound coming from any appliance I plugged into the inverter. I called the shop immediately to inform the sales rep of the issue as I couldn’t return it before they closed for the year. As business opened this year, I returned the inverter, however it had a minor cosmetic scratch (as shown in the photos attached). The shop owner was very apprehensive because of the scratch which I find ridiculous as it is only cosmetic and would not affect any components making the unit run. He proceeded to test the unit with a light in the shop which made the same buzzing sound that I had heard from my TV and other appliances. He then told me that it was normal for a light to make that noise (which I know is untrue as I worked as an electrician for a year for my father) and after further debate I asked if I should bring my television out of my lounge to the store to prove to him that there was something wrong with the unit. The fact that I would have to bring a TV out of my own lounge to prove my point is bizarre and bad business practice. However, I proceeded to bring in my TV which instantly made the buzzing sound. The owner of the shop looked at me while we both listened to the sound and told me he couldn’t hear anything. Frustrated and furious, I stormed out of the shop feeling that there was no way of rationally speaking to this person. When I calmed down, I thought that maybe I was in the wrong and that there could possibly be something faulty on my side, so I went to several electricians and companies who sell inverters, all of which who confirmed that the inverter was not Pure Sinewave as the owner had specifically promised me. I went back to the owner with this information who then called me a liar and said that he could not take the unit back due to the tiny cosmetic scratch. I took the unit to 5 paint shops to try please the owner, however he still would not take it back. If any of you buy anything at Solar Star, make sure to get your guarantees in writing! I’m honestly feeling so flabbergasted by this whole scenario and the effort I had to go through as a customer, I don’t even know what to do. Should I pursue this under the consumer rights act or should I just accept the loss and simply never go back to Solar Star?
I bought my first drone, last year Feb, for a trip I had planned up into Africa. Two weeks before my trip, while I was practicing my flight s****s at my local flying spot, my drone malfunctioned and never returned...I had done all the correct procedures before flying and I was gutted to say the last that my drone was gone. I spent at least 5 hours looking for it, but to no avail, it was gone. I logged a fault with drone world and DJI last year April (2018), however, still to this day no one has gotten back to me nor can I get any information from them. I have called several times a month since the incident, and almost everytime I am told that they will get back to me and they never do. Or they say that they are merely the middlemen for DJI and they are waiting for a response from them - which I understand but it's almost been a year and this is simply unacceptable. I have spent over R40000 with this company and have been treated with the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The second drone that I bought after my first one disappeared is also having issues. I have taken back and they claimed to have fixed it, but every time I fly it I receive error messages... This is terrible service and disgustingly unsatisfactory, please get your act together DJI and Drone world!

So cell c , I recently paid to close my contract an eft of about R5000, my number was moved to prepaid and everything was fine. One friendly sales rep in the hout bay branch talked me into a R100 a month contract so that I could walk out with a new phone as my previous one was lost. I was honestly very happy at this point... 2 months later cell c deducted the same amount out my account, which at the time happened to be all of the money in my account. I was shocked, if not for friends and family all my debit orders would have bounced and I would have been unable to by food or maintain my living condition. I printed all my statements, I have emailed them twice and taken them into my cell c store. I have spent hours on the phone with various people explaining the same situation. ...months have gone past nothing has been done. Even though my account at cell c was credited with the money they took from me it's absolutely rediculous that they could take this money out my account without my permission and still not return it...
