I have supported Pukka Indian Cuisine in Vanderbijlpark for many years, always treating the staff with respect and consistently tipping well. Unfortunately, the overall quality of both the food and the customer service has deteriorated to a point where I can no longer justify supporting this restaurant. Almost every takeaway order I have received over the past months has been incorrect, incomplete, or poorly prepared. Instead of being a once‑in‑a‑while issue, it has become a recurring pattern. I have had to request returns or replacements far too many times, something no customer should have to do repeatedly. What disappointed me the most on my recent visit was the attitude displayed in-store. An employee named Tersia openly complained about me returning incorrect orders and told me to “give it a break” and not come back. This was said in front of the owner standing right next to her. Despite witnessing the entire interaction, the owner failed to manage the situation professionally. For a long‑standing customer, this was extremely disrespectful. With the rising cost of food in general, one expects good value for money, especially from a restaurant that is significantly more expensive than other Indian cuisine establishments in the area. Ordering from Pukka is supposed to feel like a treat, but instead it has become a constant struggle and disappointment. At this point, I would honestly rather cook my own Indian dishes at home or support the numerous other food establishments in and around Vanderbijlpark where I have always received excellent service, consistent quality, and far better value.
