Unprofessional ****** Behaviour
Subject: ****** and Unprofessional Treatment at Puppy World On Saturday we visited Puppy World to purchase a puppy and accessories for a little boy’s birthday as a surprise. We were prepared to spend close to R10,000, with the puppy costing R7,500. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing due to the behaviour of the woman assisting us at the counter. She was rude, abrupt, and very disrespectful from the start. She repeatedly insisted that she needed to meet the people who would be keeping the dog. She questioned where the dog would be kept, who would be feeding it, and who would be responsible for caring for it. Bear in mind we are owners of other dogs as well and so is the family that would have had the dog. While responsible pet ownership is important, the way these questions were asked felt accusatory and demeaning, as if we were being assumed incapable of caring for an animal. We were ready to spend a significant amount of money on a puppy and its accessories, and we certainly would not purchase a dog only to neglect it. The interaction left us feeling that we were judged and stereotyped, and in our view the treatment appeared to be racially motivated. Because we are not white, it felt as though we were immediately placed into a category of people who supposedly could not properly care for a dog. This type of treatment is unacceptable. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of race. This matter needs to be addressed seriously by management, and the staff member involved should understand that behaviour like this will not be taken lightly.

I was visiting boksburg puppy world today (11/8/24) and i must say i have never encountered a ****** person like the owner/ lady working at puppy world in a long time and i even forgot that racial profiling still exist in South Africa 🤬, i used to own two dogs and since i lost my Rottweiler due to sudden illness i thought it would be a good idea to get another puppy for my other dog since it was begging to bored after loosing a friend. So i decided to visit puppy world to buy a puppy and the lady there is so rude and was making silly assumptions stating that she only sell dog to dog *****s only , i mean duh does she think I’ll spend 5k for a puppy and not be a dog *****?? What an imbecile and assuming i am staying at the township shows how narrow minded some people can be . I believe i am worth ten times her worth and yet she treats me like nothing because of the colour of my skin. I hope she sleeps peacefully after treating another human being like that sis.

Puppy World Boksburg
I by chance, found The Puppy World in Boksburg. Walked in, looked around, decided on which puppy I wanted and first bought a male dachshund and then six months' later a female. This establishment is wonderful. The place is clean, the dogs are all well cared for and both of mine are absolutely phenomenal in terms of health and personality. So, I was the one that said I would never buy any dog from a pet shop, I did. Because I could not get one through a shelter (and yes, I tried breeders too, but at the time there were only females available when I was looking for a male and then there were only males available when I was looking for a female). So, please feel free to give this Pet Shop a chance. They have wonderful, cared for, healthy animals, and are very professional, efficient and friendly

This establishment is wonderful. The place is clean, the dogs are all well cared for and both of mine are absolutely phenomenal in terms of health and personality. So, I was the one that said I would never buy any dog from a pet shop, I did. Because I could not get one through a shelter (and yes, I tried breeders too, but at the time there were only females available when I was looking for a male and then there were only males available when I was looking for a female). So, please feel free to give this Pet Shop a chance. They have wonderful, cared for, healthy animals, and are very professional, efficient and friendly

I would give below zero if possible
I brought a Chihuahua puppy on the 17th of March at Puppy World in Boksburg and she started vomiting yesterday the 22nd of March! Took her to the vet today to find out she had cat flu, which was infectious to my other pets! So 6 days after homing the little angel, we had to euthanase her this morning and wash everything she touched in my house. When I called the breeder to notify them of what had happened, my money (which I paid to purchase the pup) was transferred directly back into my bank account! I'm not a vet but if this type of cat flu is so contagious, every Pup in that pen is affected (about 20 different breeds)! These people should NOT be allowed to breed and sell pets if they cannot look after them! Please share this post, as my whole family is traumatised by this incident and we had to scrub and wash away any reminder of our little girl to keep my other pets safe! Thanks

Puppy world is horrible
We have bought many dogs from puppy world and every dog has ended up being sick and either passing away or having to be put down due to extreme health issues. Please do not buy from them you will end up having a very sick animal. They don’t care about the animals, it’s all about the money for them.

Racist owners, treating the dogs very badly. No way of speaking to non white clients. My dog is a super friendly dog but he cries the moment we walk in there. Owners treat non whites like absolute ****! I would not recommend their services to anyone!!
