I bought a KTM Duke 390 on the 29th of October 2021. I reported via email to Raceworx KTM on the 31st of October 2021 (2 days later) that the bike switches off engine power and electronics. My bike has been collected 4 times from my home and I have taken it in twice, once for the tun in service. Nothing has changed in my experience, the bike continually loses power and my concern is losing power and electronics and am then involved in an accident. It is unsafe and I think to ride it is potentially fatal due to the loss of engine power and electronics. The worst is Raceworx or KTM have made no attempt to come to some sort of compromise or deal. They do not keep me informed of anything, and the new workshop manager says he can confidently say that my R92 000 motorcycle is now working like it should. I have heard that same story 5 times before. Does KTM just not worry about the products they sell their customers or the danger they invite on the rider of their products when they sell a faulty bike. Do not buy any KTM products, there is no quality control and no-one at KTM cares that they are not selling you the product you are paying for. Every month I must still pay my loan, but they are not prepared to talk, not even with the MIO involved.

I would like to warn potential customers of Raceworx KTM in Roodepoort to be very wary. KTM is a great brand, however pick a dealer that cares about you after you have spent the big money and paid for your bike. I bought a 1290 Adventure S in December and the sales service was amazing. There was still support when I asked them to assist with getting the barrel locks set to my key on my KTM panniers but then it started to go down hill. I had to replace one barrel and I asked them to quote and replace the barrel on a pannier. I also asked for a quote on crash bars and an Adventure R windshield. I accepted the quote and paid the full amount on the 27th of January. After a couple of weeks of me asking when the equipment will arrive they collected my bike and kept it in the shop. I did not mind this as I thought they were busy working on it. Eventually I indicated I needed my bike for a weekend that I was told they have not received the parts (so what were they doing?). They would get the crash bar and lock before the weekend and then get the rest to me later as it was on back order. I was happy with that as I had no reason not to believe them. I got my bike back without the Adv R wind shield. It was on back order. My mails to them went unanswered and after a few weeks I followed up again and got all the apologies. I again waited and when I followed up I was told things were hectic and busy. I then asked for my money to be refunded. After following up again I was told it was year end and they would sort it out asap... it has been a couple more weeks and not a sound and no money. I sent a mail today 16 March and no response (I paid on 27 Jan). I have made peace that I will not get that money back unless I take legal action. So if you deal with Raceworx KTM... dont pay up front and once you have your bike, find a shop that is interested in looking after you if you want after sales work done. You have been warned. However, dont let these sharks discourage you from getting a KTM... awesome bike. Pity I now have this taste in my mouth due to being ripped off by Raceworx in Roodeport.
