Hi Claire,
We’re very sorry to hear about your frustration and truly understand how upsetting it can be when payments and balances appear incorrect. We’ve reviewed your account and can confirm that both of your top-ups (R300 and R150) were
manually allocated on 27 October. As explained in your welcome pack,
manual allocations can take up to 48 hours to reflect, which may have caused some confusion at the time.
Please note that billing is based on
actual recorded consumption from your water and electricity meters. These meters record usage in real time and automatically transmit the data to our system for billing purposes. The
tariffs applied are those set by Eskom and the City of Johannesburg.
For October, your recorded consumption was:
- Water: 15.757 kℓ
- Electricity: 461.107 kWh
This level of usage is considered high for two occupants. Unfortunately, meters cannot identify which appliances are using more electricity — they only record total usage.
However, your readings indicate
continuous water flow, which suggests there may be a possible
leak or a geyser reheating frequently. We recommend contacting your
Body Corporate or landlord to inspect your geyser and plumbing, as these factors can significantly influence both water and electricity consumption.
We’ve already provided your property’s tariff structure and usage data for transparency. Should you need any further assistance or clarification, please reach out to us at
support@ismrt.net with your
meter number and complex name, and our team will gladly assist.
Kind regards,
The ismrt! Support Team
