WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE
What a bunch of ****mers!!! I rented a place managed by them in Randburg for three years- worst mistake ever. They literally took my entire deposit money even after I cleaned and made sure to fix the place before moving out. The bathroom of the place I was renting has no ventilation, there's literally no air coming into the bathroom, that's an architectural problem in the complex and yet I'm being made to pay over R3000 for them to fix the mould- mould that is a result of bad architecture. The inspection that happened when I moved in vs when I moved out are completely different. These people are horrible at communicating, emails are ignored and yet they're quick to take people's monies. They charging over R1000 to inspect a one bedroom apartment???

While building design can play a role, it is also important for tenants to take reasonable steps during their tenancy to minimise moisture build-up. This includes regularly aerating the space (such as keeping the door or windows open where possible), wiping down excess moisture, and using appropriate cleaning products like mould-buster to prevent growth over time.
Our outgoing inspections are conducted in line with the ingoing inspection report and standard rental procedures. Any charges raised are based on the condition of the unit at the end of the lease, compared to its condition at the start, excluding fair wear and tear.
We understand that deposit-related matters can be frustrating, and we always aim to communicate clearly and fairly throughout the process. Should you wish to discuss your specific charges further, please feel free to contact us directly so we can review this with you.

- To me this reads as “you shouldn’t have showered if you didn’t want to pay for the mould.”
I’m not satisfied with your response.
You’re also assuming that I never cleaned those walls and ceiling, I did - plenty of times. The windows were always open, I’ve never closed the windows.
I raised the issue over the mould within my first month of moving in with the agent. I then raised it again when renewing my lease with your maintenance department and contractors were brought in to come see it but no work was done.
I have always communicated with Renprop in good faith but unfortunately the same courtesy has not been given to me hence we’re now here discussing my grievances. When I moved out, I made sure to fix things that I felt I was responsible for and the mould I still feel should not be my responsibility.
I incurred costs trying to make sure the place was in good condition when I moved out.
I’ve seen units in the same complex that have ventilation systems installed, why couldn’t that have been done?
