Im booking 2 roo.s for today until Sunday as cold as it is im asking for blankets they say they don't keep blankets what kind of a hotel without blankets when we paid so much. Never book this hotel its so pathetic

The front lobby is beautiful, the gardens perfect and well looked after. The restaurant a joy to support. That is all the positives Now the negative and 1 star rating The room is extremely old, the bathroom not well looked after, extremely disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel. The rooms are less than 1 star, if i knew before hand what the room would look like i would definitely not have stayed there, i was in room 210. overpriced for what we received. Will not stay there again.

Misleading Photos and Poor Hygiene – Riviera on the Vaal I recently stayed at Riviera on the Vaal and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing and far below what was advertised online. The hotel photographs create the impression of a well-maintained and comfortable property. However, upon arrival it was immediately clear that the premises have not been properly maintained for many years. The facilities are extremely outdated and in poor condition, yet the accommodation is priced as though it were a quality establishment. We initially booked a self-catering room. Within minutes of entering the room and kitchen area we had to kill more than five ****roaches. This was clearly not a one-off incident. When we returned to reception to request another room, the staff member assisting us did not appear surprised at all by the complaint. The replacement room was not much better. The bathroom and shower facilities were in a condition that one would struggle to accept even in a budget one-star establishment. Overall cleanliness and maintenance were clearly lacking. What is most concerning is that the property appears to rely on attractive online photos that do not accurately reflect the current condition of the hotel. Guests are paying premium rates for accommodation that is far below the standard being marketed. Prospective guests should be aware of this before booking, and the management should seriously address the hygiene and maintenance issues at this property.

We had to pleasure of attending our High School Reunion after 34 yrs, hosted at Riviera on Vaal Resort this weekend. The Staff are friendly and professional. The accommodation was good even though they are still busy renovating. What a wonderful and memorable weekend. Thank you to the Riviera on Vaal Resort for making this weekend so memorable.

Once again, lousy service,hotel restuarant: Fruit is rotten, when i order veg lasagne,the chef comes and tells me there is no butternut as per the menu,only season veg,and butternut is rife in the supermarket this time of year. The owners are white and arrogant,walk around the premises,but not a single greeting. I get upset and walk out of the restuarant, only to have one uncivilized black waitress saying in front of me: "Haiybo"? So what, must i sit in eat when there is no butternut as requested and when we ask for normal tap water,she arrogantly tells me" we dont give tap water just still water"? I mean i initially ordered for over R250 and this is the way you speak to a customer? Pathetic.I got up and walked away hungry naturally. God is great, i ordered online and got better,cheaper and pleasant treatment and food delivered to the hotel at no charge and off course halaal,at a place called IMOS DELI.

I booked online, there was supposed to be buffet breakfast according to the booking ,with extra payment offcourse,so i paid,cause i have an elderly mum, so cannot run around for food. Then we come down for breakfast,get told that there is no buffet,only weekends,choose from the menu,as follows: Juice Eggs, mushrooms etc Fruit Cereal Tea Danish pastry and ****ins First day, fruit is rotten, no tea water is cold No pastry just a dry ****in Second day,we told there is no ****ins cause there was load shedding, but they have a generator,complained to Mike, he brushed me off, no assistance. Then the room cleaning service is up to no good, no soaps,no towels, although they take the dirty ones, excuse is that they are in the dryer till 6pm. The managers walk past no greetings nothing,but they love my money. I will definitely never go back there not recommend to anyone in their right mind to go there if you need a relaxing break.

Good morning I had booked for accommodation at Riviera on Vaal resort I was attending a friends wedding.On the day of the wedding early hours of the morning I received a call that a family member passed on I had to leave the place now my problem is they don’t want to give me a a refund or even a voucher of some sort because what had happened it was beyond my control now they are telling me I have a week to utilise this voucher otherwise I will forfeit it I did not even get an email formally from the hotel nothing all I get is a phone call full of threats about me coming there I was not even happy about the accommodation the sealing was falling off it looked ****key and the food we ordered was terrible I am so disappointed. And I had paid a lot of money around R3000 something this was the worst nightmare.
