My grandfather of 85 years old was admitted to Rondebosch Medical Centre. His heart only operating at 15% and he had multiple infections and was treated for various conditions. His false teeth (which contained 10k of gold) and numerous items went missing. I submitted a formal complaint as well as multiple telephonic follow ups to the hospital with no response -it has been 4 weeks already. He hasn't been able to eat solid food in his dire condition and not once have they phoned or gotten back to me. We finally found a dentist willing to come to hospital for a new set of teeth after getting him transferred to a different hospital. I am disgusted that this hasn't been important enough for a hospital representative to assist. The doctors are brilliant but unfortunately this whole experience hasn't been a good one. I feel incredibly sorry for my grandfather and watching him struggle to get better and not being able to eat properly has been horrific. Hide your belongings if you go to this hospital.
