Very bad experience with RSD – do not recommend Communication: ★☆☆☆☆ Work quality: ★★☆☆☆ Trustworthiness: ☆☆☆☆☆
I had a very poor experience with RSD and feel it’s important to warn others. I first contacted RSD on 27 October 2025. They inspected my gate motor and advised that it needed reconditioning, which they said would be completed the next day for R3,800.
For an entire week, I was told daily that the motor would be ready “today” or “tomorrow”. I made multiple arrangements to have someone at home based on these promises. The motor was only returned a week later, in November.
The problems did not end there. After installation, the gate moved very slowly, and within the same week it showed drive fault / motor fault errors. The issue kept getting worse. I contacted RSD again at the end of November. After nearly two weeks of repeatedly following up, they eventually collected the motor on 10 December 2025. As of today, 21 January 2026, I still have not received my motor back. I have contacted RSD dozens of times. The receptionist repeatedly says she will “post in the technician group”, but there is no follow-up, no feedback, and no resolution.
Yesterday, I was told by the receptionist that the boss says the motor cannot be fixed and that I must buy a new one — after already paying R3,800 to RSD for reconditioning.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend RSD. Please be very careful before using their services.
