We booked chalet for 16 pax which were divided into 4 chalets. Our check in process was good until check out the issue came to when we had to be refunded an amount R1300. The issue came in when we separated the bunk twin beds which were uncomfortable for grown ups to be sleeping on top like we kids. We separated the beds. In front of the staff who never said that it was wrong for us to do so. Well the deposit of 1300 which was separate from our accommodation it was meant for if we loose keys we not getting it the deposit back as per their email when I asked what was that deposit for? When I asked for my refund back I was told that since we separated the bunk beds we not getting back our refund as it is ******** to their premises. I asked that where in a confirmation letter does it say do not separate our kids bunk beds? And was there a notice in their chalets like they have big notice on their walls about dishes? No there was no notice about that beside that I as a organiser I was told we broke their beds which is a lie? Since their last email that I received that they can send me pictures to show me the broken beds.... Worst disappointing I was called dear guest in several emails even when they knew my name on an email. I will never recommend anyone to sleep there ever as their of keys deposit is just a **** of making more money even after we paid R10k for accommodation. Rules must be be in paper not only when a guest has left or checked out then only because you feel like you cannot refund us then you start telling me of your rules that we're supposed to be told in check in time or in their confirmation letter. I might not the only person but some were scared to voice out their deposit rule. The deposit rule was meant for keys as per email not for beds. Therefore I still demand my deposit back I paid in peace therefore it should come back in peace.... Anyone asking me if their accommodation I will definitely tell them to go somewhere else. Again on check out we hand out all the keys why is that the housekeeping staff did not say to us that guest since you separated these beds can we check that they not broken... Now you want to show me a picture of a broken bed after I've left? Have never Violet anyone's premises 17years of my life I have worked in a 5 star hotel I've travelled better places that those chalets why would I violate Rustig? The reason I won't 3cen belive on pics are only when 2 weeks later when I asked for deposit they want to send me pics, who even knows those pics are already kept for people like me.

One of the best hiking experiences I’ve ever had. John and Thea were very helpful and prepared us well for the hike before us. The trail itself was very challenging and is constantly changing in landscape but it’s worth every struggle and sweat. It’s unbelievably beautiful and I will definitely be back with my friends for an overnight hiking experience

Where do I start? Perhaps by thanking Tia and John the owners and managers of the place. Very loving and welcoming indeed. We received such a beautiful welcome. Made us feel relaxed and at home since we were spending the night after our hectic 13Km trail. They offered to take our cooler bags to the Executive tents so our meat and drinks can be put in the fridge.I must say the reception was awesome from the entrance. The staff is just as awesome and Amazing and I attribute that to having awesome managers like Tia and John who are very much hands on. Continue to do the lovely job you guys are doing. Wonderful place you have there, definately coming back next month, doubt it will be to hike. Maybe just to see the beautiful mountains, be surrounded by beauty and serenity. We hiked on Saturday and today is Heritage day /Tuesday and I still can't walk properly. HECTIC TRAIL that was. See you guys soon. Esther

on Friday the 11th September 2015 at 545pm, a granite table that was loose and balancing on 2 small pillars, fell onto my nephew age 11, trapping both his legs underneath. 2 other boys age 7 and 9 managed to avoid the table just in time, although both were scratched A worker that had seen the accident simply walked away leaving the boy still trapped We ran down to the area where the accident had happened and it took both my husband and I to lift the granite slab off his legs His one leg was badly scratched and bleeding but his other leg was clearly broken,it was completely dented in After undergoing surgery, and a 2 night stay in hospital Kai had to have 2 pins inserted into his leg, and a 12 month rehabilitation process awaits him. The pain he experienced that night was intolerable. We went back to the resort that night and not once were we approached by management about the incident. On Saturday morning that same granite table was hoisted back onto its 2 feeble supports and the broken cutlery was left on the ground We complained and the table was taken down A fellow visitor had already warned staff about the loose table top a week ago They are so far impossible to get hold of.
