14 Apr 2025, 17:16Dear Waynne,
Thank you for your feedback. We believe it is important to clarify the factual context of your matter so that readers have a complete and accurate understanding.
You initially joined our debt counselling program with full disclosure that all monthly debt obligations had to be maintained. During our recent follow-up, it became clear that your December payment was not going to be made due to additional medical expenses that had not been disclosed to us earlier. This new information required us to urgently restructure your proposal and payment plan in order to prevent your accounts from falling into arrears and to avoid serious consequences with your creditors.
Throughout this process, our team acted in good faith and repeatedly went out of our way to assist you, especially considering the medical challenges faced within your household. We have communication on record reflecting that our intention was to support you, not to inconvenience you.
The consultation time offered was part of the urgent restructuring required, and at no point were you ever told that any application fee was a requirement before assistance. This claim is factually incorrect.
Unfortunately, the communication from your side and the breakdown in cooperation made it impossible for us to continue our professional relationship. Debt counselling is a partnership that requires transparency, accurate information, and timely participation from all parties. When this is not possible, the process cannot function effectively or legally.
For these reasons, and as communicated to you, SA Debt Help will withdraw as the appointed debt counsellor on your file.
We wish you and your family well and hope you find a service provider who is better suited to your expectations.
Kind regards,
Management
