Shocking and arrogant Service from Awie Coetzee. I have read other reviews and received the same experience. Rude, *********** and arrogant. Prior to me even joining, he was started telling me I was wasting his time. I should never have gone with him but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. My situation was a little more complex as I was with another company before moving to Awie at SA Debt hoping that the service would be better. WOW – it was even worse. To cut a long story short: - I sold my property while under debt review and continuously asked Awie to assist me in trying to consolidate my debt with fnb under my acknowledgement of debt with FNB under this sale as it would interest free. I was met with countless arguments and telling me it is not possible. I even put him in though with my contact at FNB that I hunted down because he was just not willing to help. I eventually got feedback and actually managed to get this done with no assistance from him – only rude responses and arguments. - Another issue I had to keep nagging him about was that I had a one month arrear during the transition to this company. (Again I took the initiative to contact FNB) and get my debt review reinstated. Funny how I could manage to find the correct channel - There are also inconsistencies in what FNB is saying I owe them during a months missed payment during the transition to SA Debt Help. Again I have had to nag him and to date still no resolve Every time I have been in contact with Awie, whether telephonically or via email – I was met with arguments and a condescending attitude. He also as he admits “skimmed” through my mails so we were never on the same page. I was always hesitant to speak to him telephonically as it always ended up in a screaming match because he would not take initiative to assist me in what I was recommending (which I eventually got resolved myself with FNB) When I eventually had enough or his rude responses and raised voice and spoke back – he immediately acted like a spoilt little child and terminated my services. He refuses to answer any of my factual mails. He refused to try rectify anything. And he refuses to response to me saying he should be compensating me fees I have paid considering he has been of no assistance. I have found him arrogant, *********** and rude. I was treated the same way as I see in the other negative reviews and I am sure to expect a response with excuses just like the others did. Trust me – save yourself time and aggravation and stay away!

These people debited over R5000 from my account without my consent. They called me and spoke to me and while I was still inquiring more about what they offered. Next thing over R5000 went off my account without agreeing to anything or signing any paper work. The entire balance of my pension is gone and yet all my creditors are still not paid!!! I tried to call them many times and theyre no longer answering. I texted the number 0722943117 picks up as Simamkele on True Caller which had WhatsApped me first and theyre not responding now to my texts but only blue ticking me. I want my money back. These people are ****mers!!!

I was referred to S.A. Debt Help by a friend when I mentioned that i might need to explore that option. I made contact with Awie Coetzee and was immediately impressed by his professionalism, knowledge and humanity. He guided me step by step until the process of application was complete. The entire team involved are extremely helpful and efficient. Awie's knowledge of the legal process and quick response to queries is truly impressive. I will gladly recommend S.A. Debt Help.

I had a call from an agent, Sibongile Diko on Wednesday. Stating that they could help me pay less on a monthly basis and that I was paying too high an interest rate. That it shouldn't be higher than 15% by law...... On the phone for 33minutes. Telling me that nothing ito my debit orders will change, only that there will be a max amount that my creditors can debit from. On my stating that I don't want to be under debt review as that comes with all sorts of restrictions, changes to my credit rating etc etc, the agent assures me that this is not the same process. She can see that I have no failures to pay my accounts, everything is being kept up to date, this is merely to bring my interest rate down and so save me money on a monthly basis. 'Nothing else changes' she tells me over and over. Today all my credit facilities have been removed and I've been placed under the exact debt review that I said I did not want! Trying to get hold of the agent has proven impossible. I've tried the whatsapp line and had no further feedback. I've tried calling all afternoon, only to have a voice recording tell me I will be directed to an agent and then the call is disconnected. I want a 17.2 rejection form sent to all my creditors that have been notified and this entire debt review ******* reversed. I didn't call them, they called me, spinning stories about only saving me money! I do not need to be under debt review!!

Never ask this company for help! I found the owner Awie extremely rude and abrasive in my dealings with him. He didn't like that I asked questions relating to Debt Review, and said that I had wasted his time, and that I am a miserable person... someone who doesn't know me at all! He got extremely nasty in his Whatsapp's and emails - I've never encountered this kind of disgusting behavior from anyone... let alone someone that I was considering doing business with ! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY....

Would give zero rating!!!! I was contacted by Ayanda from Debt Help (NCRDC4500) on 14 July 2025. He told me that they could reduce my interest rates by negotiating with my creditors. I asked him repeatedly whether this would affect my credit or ability to get finance. He assured me that it would not. At no point was I told this was official debt review. I signed based on his false explanation. Only later did I find out that this was in fact a formal debt review application — something I never would have agreed to if I had been told the truth. On 17 July, I was advised by my FNB private banker to cancel immediately, which I did — within the 5-day legal cooling-off period. I sent a formal cancellation email that same day. When I followed up, I spoke to a so-called portfolio manager named Monica, who was not only unfriendly and rude, but also refused to confirm or acknowledge the cancellation we had discussed. She claimed they needed to listen to call recordings first and avoided giving anything in writing. Shortly after, my credit was revoked, my FNB account was overdrawn, and my home loan structure was changed — all because they ignored a valid, legal cancellation. This has been a traumatic and financially damaging experience. I am now in contact with the National Credit Regulator and have formally disputed the listing with Experian. I strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid this company and its consultants. They are not to be trusted.

I received a call from this company saying they got my details from NCR, as I inquired how, the lady terminated the call. Few minutes later I received a message that I gave them consent to pull my credit record. This company is *****.

Stay away from this company. I had some questions with regards to my current debt review and payments. Because I was not able to make a meeting at 8.30AM, which was demanded by Awie at 5.30PM the day before I have just received a mail to say he is terminating my application. I paid you your R9950 before you would assist me, attorney fees have been paid. 3 Months on the program and because I can not accommodate your demands for a 8.30AM call you decide to terminate me, saying you are unable to work with us. My meetings are scheduled in advance so i cannot just cancel at the last minute to suit you. You told me to make a formal complaint at with the NCR which has already been done.
