Over a month ago I ordered a MacBook Air 11-inch Logic Board 1.7 GHz i5 8GB RAM.
Instead SA Spares sent an older 4GB RAM Logic Board and have refused to get me a replacement. They do not return calls or emails.

You will notice the other bad reviews. Unless you are prepared to deal with fraudsters who sell older parts with half the RAM, do not buy from SA Spares!

I made contact with SA Sapres via their web site, looking for a few sundry bits and pieces. I work in IT and am always looking for decent suppliers in SA. The web site for this outfit seems to be decent, and looks reputable. However looks can be decieving. I made inquiries and my mails were responded to rather promptly. The first warning is they refused to accept any form of payment apart from EFT. I come from Europe, and this EFT business that goes on in this country is nothing short of an absurd way to conduct business. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY in Europe would agree to depositing anything into anybody's bank accout for payment of ANYTHING. There is simply no safety if the seller decides to not supply the goods. At least when paying with plastic you can cancel the transaction, and report it as a fraud. Seems any kind of recourse for this sort of thing in SA is convoluted, quite possibly deliberately so, for obvious reasons. Anyways I digress this is not a review for ABSA or any other nefarious and predatory finacial entity operating within SA.

So first mistake, paid via EFT! I placed the order, and made payment. However in the intervening time between the order being placed and payment being made, nobody at SA Spares (which is probably run out of a garage by two people), bothered to let me know that one of the items was not in stock, even though their website indicated that it was in stock.

I was informed about this and told that it would be shipped to me when stock arrived, or if I wanted a refund I could choose that option. I opted for the outstanding part of the order I wan't in a desperate hurry and could wait a few weeks. This was July 11th 2016. The two items which were in stock arrived as expected. I followed up with Manish Misra, who seems to be the anchor for this catastrophe called SA Spares, on the 31st August to check on the outstanding part and when I could expect to receive it. I was told that there was no stock. I left it for a little while, give them time to get stock, I know how long it takes to get parts from overseas suppliers.

I followed up on the 11th of October to see what was happening. I got no response. I followed up again on the 15th October - no reply. I followed up again on October 18th and guess what, no reply. Now I've completely given up on getting the part and simply want my money back.

I begin to send emails requesting a refund, and of course no reply. At this point I'm overseas on a job. So I have a colleague phone Mr. Misra, and he had the temerity to claim that the order was fulfilled. This is where he got sneaky. The origianal order number for the three parts was changed to a different order number to fulfill the two items that they did have, and delivered. So I now have two order numbers, the original order which was technically never fulfiled and the 2nd order with TWO items which was fulfilled, however omitting the one item which wasn't dispatched and conveniently seemed to be forgotten about.

I continued to follow up via email and my collegue continued to phone him seeking a refund. At one point he tried to claim that he'd already issued the refund, which was simply a lie. Eventually on November 14th he refunded the money.

If you're a business or just a private individual looking for IT supplies then this is certainly not the place to get them. When it comes to fufilling outstanding items or issuing refunds this crowd of desperadoes suddenly go all quiet. I wouldn't dream of doing busineess with these people ever again, and if you're reading this, I'd advise to stay far, far away from these guys. There are plenty of other IT suppliers in SA, and if you're still unable to find what you want there are overseas suppliers, and enduring the extortion payments on overseas good demanded by SARS is far preferable to dealing with these guys. Horrible, horrible company. I wish I had read the other reviews posted here before I ordered from them. Lesson learned!

We ordered a Logic Board from this supplier. We received the wrong unit, and we couriered it back to them on the 19th of February 2016.
It has been a week and still no refund is paid into our account.
This is poor service and we are suggesting to all other clients not to support this supplier.

Our company IT VISION purchased a Mac Battery from our supplier SA Spares in September 2015. Our client, contacted us informing us on 16 October 2015 that the battery is faulty. Where we immediately informed SA Spares of the problem part.
We have sent numerous emails to SA SPARES requesting advise to swap the battery. We must call numerous times during the day requesting a written answer.
This supplier SA SPARES has absolutely NO after sale service. They never answer emails and we as the consumer keep on waiting.
We strongly advise the consumers to be careful dealing with this supplier.
