Servest Security guards in Cosmo Mall swear at customers

I am writing to formally express a concern regarding one of your security guards at Cosmo Mall on June 28, 2025, between 17:20 PM and 17:30 PM at the entrance of Pedro’s restaurant. The incident in question occurred during my visit to the mall, just as it was getting late and I was preparing to go home. I requested an Uber at the Pedro’s side entrance because Uber drivers do not pick up on the Boxer Superstore side, and for my safety, I also avoid requesting on the Kumkani Gas entrance side to prevent any conflict with the taxi association.

As it was getting late and the area where I reside at is not safe once it gets dark, I requested an Uber to take me home. My Uber driver arrived at the Pedro’s entrance, and as I was reversing back with my trolley to collect my items, I noticed three men dressed in black ( I belive it Servant uniform) approaching me aggressively. One of them grabbed my trolley, which contained my last plastic bag, while the other two approached the Uber driver. Confused, I was forcefully instructed to remove my belongings from the vehicle. Shocked, I observed the other two men yelling at the Uber driver while the one holding my items continued to do so. I inquired with the driver about what was happening, and he asked me if I had R50.00 to give to these men, as they were not letting go of my belongings. I questioned the purpose of the R50, explaining that I had only requested an Uber and intended to pay him upon reaching my destination. The driver remained calm, responding in a low tone and apologizing to the men. The issue arose due to the R50.00 they demanded, and I informed them that I did not have it. The man holding my trolley then began to insult me, reaching a point where he swore at me, saying: “Uyasijwayela kabi wena golo lika nyoko,” while coming close to intimidate me. This situation traumatized me further, as I was uncertain about what was truly happening, and the fact that this individual resorted to such vulgarity regarding my mother’s private parts was alarming. Had it not been for the presence of the public, I believe this individual would have physically attacked me, Why was I attacked? because of a R50.00 bribe they couldnt get? Pity they didnt have name tags on, I was going to be specific.

It will take me a considerable amount of time to return to this mall due to the unpleasant experience this individual has caused me. I would be grateful if you could investigate this issue and take suitable measures to address the conduct of this security guard. If there are any CCTV cameras that might have recorded the incident in the vicinity I mentioned, I kindly request that you review the footage, I have also sent an email to the centre managers of the mall and Andre has rep**** and advised he escalated the matter to the company.
