We booked a room at this Shalamanzi Lodge yesterday and found out today that we need to travel to Cape town weekend for work this weekend. I know they have a strict policy of not paying back any money if you change or cancel. But life happens and i would at least think that they would be reasonable and pay half the money back. But they dont even care.. told me to find someone else to stay there for the Friday night and let them pay us back. There reviews on the internet is not good .. makes me wonder if this is why they dont pay back any money.. and have a strict no payback policy.

This woman ****s people. You book on SafariNow.com and she ends up taking the money and no booking is done for you. We asked her multiple times for proof of reservation and she always had some excuses to why we could not get it. When we requested to cancel everything and got in contact with SafariNow.com they then told us no money was received on their side. We went to the bank and they told us she had withdrawal the money from her account. Her account is blocked and she has been tagged by every bank so she cannot open a new account

We arrìved at Shalamanzi just after 14h00 on 24 September 2021. We were not happy!! At about 15h30 we packed the car and gave the key to Leonard the caretaker. As per his request I wrote that we cancelled our accommodation a hour and a half after booking in. 1 : We did not get the room that was booked(we were booked in a room with a shower and we got a room with a bath with a hand shower) I have Parkinson's decease and cannot get into a bath!! 2 : The plugs are so filthy I did not dare to touch it!! Had to ask for a extension cord in order to use the fan.. 3 : Had to wipe the cupboards inside before packing our clothes in it 4 : There were ****roach droppings in the cupboards, on the counter, on the fridge 5 : Pillows on the bed were smelly. Filthy when pulling pillowcases away. 6 : We pulled back the bedding and the sheet on the mattress had stains that were like stuff that had dried. There were a lot of little black thingies between the sheets...dead bedbugs or bug ****?!! We are so disappointed!! For these reasons I requested my money to be refunded !! The owner of Shalamanzi Lodge in Hartebee****rtdam refuses to refund the money I paid... I feel that this is not fair to me!!! I want people to be careful of this place and owner. I FEEL AS IF I'VE BEEN SCAMMED!!!!

I was requesting a refund. I mentioned that the Jacuzzi was not working, Caretaker on arrival said it’s not working. The gentleman on I called repeatedly said the Jacuzzi was working. This is when I got very angry and I did scream asking for my refund, for the way the gentlemen spoke to me . I want a refund on my money to avoid further problems with the Travel and Tourism board. And yes I am working for an Airline and I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. I know what I want and expect when booking a 3-4 star rated loge/hotel/apartment. Attached is the email we sent on Saturday and no response since then. We made several calls also to 073 181 3451 on Saturday and who evers phone it was did not respond or call us back. I would appreciate feedback, response within the next 24 hours period. Of note, bad reviews of your lodge has been done on Google reviews. i requested a refund as we spent all of 10 min there just to get hold of a very rude owner

What a poor place arrived yesterday on 29-11-2019 and immediatly door doesn't lock from inside use toilet ones and hole mat under water.When you report this to owner they treat you like dirt.Get told inspection was done and nothing was wrong a hour before you arrive .Well he can believe himself but at the end off the day had to leave this place because had a function and then they want to fix the place doesn't work that way.Poor poor poor service will never recomment this place in my lifetime again
