My insurance took my car to Shelley’s Panelshop for minor repairs (replacement of front bumper and wheel realignment following bumping into a wall in a parking garage), and it was retuned to me with a completely misaligned bumper (the space between the bonnet and number visibly different on the left and right side, and unsightly gaps around the headlights), and a broken key. I noticed the key immediately and the manager offered to glue it, but I agreed that it would be better not to glue it because it would be impossible to open to change the batteries.
I followed up with them when I realized how terribly the job had been done and they fetched the car to realign the bumper. It was returned to me with no noticeable difference to the terrible work done initially, and with the key completely glued closed so that now I am not even able to remove the manual key in an emergency. The key is an original BMW key that will be expensive to replace.
As that was not enough, my car now tells me whenever I start it that it is -40 degrees C outside and there is a clicking noise that seems to be coming from the wheels when I drive.
I recommend Shelley’s Panelshop even less than I am looking forward to the waste of my time that will now be invoked with finding someone competent to fix their work and identity the new problems that arise from what I should note again was a minor accident.
