When lodging a claim with insurance, and you're informed that Silvex Ron & Son will be conducting the assessment, I strongly urge you to conduct further research before accepting them as your assessor.
When I was informed that Silvex-Ron and Sons would be assessing my claim, I thoroughly researched their reputation. Despite the extensive negative feedback and my previous experiences with Discovery and its partners, I proceeded with their assessment, trusting the process in good faith.
However, after reviewing the report, I identified several critical issues that not only call into question the competence of the assessors but also the validity of their findings. The rejection report I received from Discovery is riddled with inaccuracies and appears to have been compiled by someone with little knowledge or attention to detail.
1. The report incorrectly states that there is no surge protector on the DB board. However, in my presence, the very young assessor specifically pointed out the surge protector to Ron and took a photo of it.
2. The report claims there are no details regarding the make and model of the inverter. In reality, the inverter has a clearly visible sticker with this information on top of the unit.
3. The report gives the impression that the inverter is an old, inferior brand. In truth, it was purchased from the reputable company Branson Holdings in October 2022.
4. The report mentions wear and tear, which is entirely inaccurate. The inverter is used only during load shedding to power my security cameras—this claim is baseless.
5. The report suggests the failure occurred due to overload, yet the cause of the issue was a power substation explosion that affected the entire area.
6. As an "expert" in the field, the lack of attention to detail is questionable at best.
While a single mistake might be excused, the repeated inaccuracies suggest a troubling pattern. My experience with Discovery indicates a consistent attempt to cut costs by employing unqualified or inexperienced assessors, which directly impacts the accuracy of their reporting and the fair processing of claims.
People take time to publish shoddy service, so heed these warnings when choosing assessors for your claims to ensure fair and honest report.
