When returning a rental vehicle to Sixt at Cape Town International Airport, a scratch was noted on one of the mag wheels. Following this, it took approximately three months for Sixt to provide a repair quotation. During this period, there were multiple attempts to debit my credit card for the damage amount without prior approval. Once the quotation was received, I disputed the amount and requested an alternative quote, as well as escalation to the head of the claims department due to the manner in which the matter had been handled. This request was declined. I was informed that the amount was not negotiable and that I would not be given access to senior management. I was further advised that legal action would be instituted should payment not be made immediately. The delays, lack of transparency in the claims process, and refusal to engage on a disputed amount raise concerns regarding Sixt’s customer service and dispute resolution procedures.
