Contacted these guys last night to splice a fibre cable. Was contacted this morning at 0700 sharp and enquired as to the price. Was given the s**** about how the technician needs to come and see exactly what is wrong in order to give price. I said exactly what is wrong and requested price again. Was told callout is R350, Asked again what is the price for such a simple repair. Was told 650 for splice. I still said its a bit much considering that it only requires terminating the fibre optic and fitting new connector/terminal. Was explained that that requires splicing. i submitted. The guys came several hours after they said they would. Apologised for being late. They spliced a preprepared terminal cable to my cable. tried to upsell me to a little box that would "prevent future breakage" Didn't want to say how much, just, 'We'll see". I insisted until they said R200, i said no thanks. Took about 6 minutes. Then the technician shows me the price . R450 for callout and 650 for splicing. I got real mad. tried calling the person who gave me price for about 15 minutes and he goes, no, the callout increased. I suppose i did not insist on the total price explicitly(repeatedly) and assumed, but their insistence on being avoidant distracted me. As i am sure it is intended. I could have gotten 2 months fibre and a better network if i knew i was gonna get ********** like this. I told him i will warn anyone doing business with them ever to watch their back, these guys act Dom untill time comes to pay. Never getting my business again.
