Two months ago, my front loader washing machine stopped powering on. I phoned Reception and was told a technician would come on-site for testing but instead, collection staff swiftly arrived to pick it up which was not originally agreed. I was wary from the beginning and I even phoned Reception again to clarify. The staff logged the call details on the invoice.
A few days later, I was informed that the power module needed replacement. I declined the costly repair and requested that the machine be returned.
When the machine was delivered a week later, I immediately noticed that the front rubber door seal had been replaced and poorly fitted — a clear red flag that the machine had been unnecessarily tampered with.
I removed the power module and kept it aside only to discover recently that a vital electronic component had been desoldered and removed from the PCB, raising serious concerns about its repairability.
Using a borrowed power module for testing, and after further inspection of the machine, I found multiple issues: where the drain hose overflow was disconnected, the shock absorber bolts were loose, the drive belt was off-center, and most importantly, the entire drum assembly had been replaced with one with a production date stamp of two years after the purchase date of my machine. Along the seam of the drums, black silicone sealant is app**** all the way around, and leaks water.
All of this occurred when the only fault reported was the power module, located at the back panel. Why was anything else touched? The company’s own receipt clearly stated “no power” as the issue.
It appears the company may have assumed I would discard the machine after declining the repair, and thus decided to strip it for spare parts.
This was a well-maintained, fully functional machine before service. After handling by this company, it is now damaged, leaking, and unusable. The negligence, unauthorized tampering, and careless handling are ********* and unacceptable.
