Two months ago, my front loader washing machine stopped powering on so, I phoned Reception and was told a technician would come on-site for testing.
Instead, collection staff arrived swiftly to pick it up and demanded upfront payment. When I phoned again, I was now told the machine needed to be tested at their workshop.
A few days later, I was informed that the power module needed replacement and so the company’s own receipt clearly stated “no power” as the issue. I declined the costly repair and asked for the machine to be returned.
It took a week to be delivered, and immediately I noticed the front rubber door seal had been replaced and poorly fitted — a clear red flag confirming my worst fears that the machine had been unnecessarily tampered with.
I removed the power module and discovered that an electronic component had been desoldered and removed from the PCB, raising doubts about what else had been altered and making the board unrepairable.
When I eventually sourced a borrowed power module for testing, I found even more issues elsewhere: the drain hose was disconnected, shock absorbers loose, drive belt off-center, and the entire drum assembly replaced with one dated two years newer, and this one leaks water.
Why were all these parts even touched when the power module — the only fault — is located at the back panel?
It seems the company may have assumed I would discard the machine after declining the repair and possibly used it for spare parts.
This was a well-maintained, fully functional machine before service and is now damaged and unusable. The handling was careless, *********, and unacceptable.
