AVOID **** ARTISTS - Sogwa Pools Shepherd Dube
Shepherd Dube is a **** artist. He was contracted to do a Change of Pool Weir and to re-fiberglass a pool. We paid him for the job, which he started, and then he needed to quickly leave and come back. And that was the last we've seen him. I called him several times, and he said he was going to come sort it out, but he's subsequently blocked me and not responded to any SMS/Whatsapp/Phone calls. I eventually had to get another pool company to come sort out his mess. (He had actually cut wires to the pool pump to connect some equipment because he was too lazy to ask for an extension cord, and also blocked the pipe-system with sucking air) AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, don't say you weren't warned

Sogwa Pools - Avoid this company. They are ******.
They installed a 3-bag filter for my pool, which actually requires a 4-bag filter. On top of that, they charged me R8,500 for the incorrect filter. I was later quoted R6,500 for the correct filter; meaning I was overcharged and supp**** with the wrong product. When I confronted the owner/technician, Shepard Dube, in January 2025, he promised to replace the filter. However, he has not done so and he stopped responding to my messages in April 2025. I have since initiated proceedings at the Small Claims Court and have been advised that I may also lay ******** charges, which I will be doing shortly.

Bad service, didn't complete the job and stole money
Dealing with Shepard from Sogwa Pools has been an absolute nightmare. I paid them to repair a crack in my pool, redo the fiberglass lining and to redo the tiles around the pool. Initially he did an exceptionally poor job of fixing my pool. The pool was full of sharp edges from the fiberglass where it was left unsanded. The texture was uneven as well as the coloring. The outlet was unusable as they covered it in resin. There was resin on the tiles, they bypassed my pool heating and cut my pool light chord short so it could not be replaced without partially draining the pool. After 8 months the pool cracked and it took 4 months to get Shepard to come back to fix the damage. I had to loan him money to fix the pool and after paying the money he came up with excuses as to why he hasn't started. The repair of the pool itself finally concluded over a month later but the job was never completed as the tiles were never replaced. At this point he is avoiding my calls and has not paid any of the money owed back and has not contact me to make any arrangements even though we had made an arrangement for him to pay the money back by the end of the following month.
