SollyM Sports was recommended to me by Matthew Ford from BlueCranes Basketball academy. I sent them an email and a Whatsapp message on 1 November 2022, as well as, commented on an Instagram post requesting that they check their emails and got no response up until I spoke to Matthew Ford from BlueCranes Basketball academy. I guess he spoke to them because shortly after that, I got a response from a different email account. I wanted to purchase a basketball kit and soccer kit. The person I spoke to (Zain Ebrahim) had a response rate of between 24 - 48 hours and was so passive aggressive and condescending in his emails as if he was being forced to do business with us. It was so off-putting, to say the least. I was contacting on behalf of a global company that has a Cape Town branch and is sponsoring a Belhar based basketball team and a Khayelitsha based soccer team. Therefore, we needed to confirm their preferred colours and sizes before we could place an order. Zain seemed to be annoyed by this and even proceeded to tell me that we as the consumer have the right to take our business elsewhere and to contact him when we are ready to place an order. He also advised us that the R4999 quote he had provided us with is only valid for 7 days and that the soccer and basketball kits' prices had increased. We were never advised that the quotes are valid for 7 days only seeing as he only sent us blank emails with the quotes. I did not see this on their website either. This Zain person has no email etiquette or customer service skills. This was definitely a horrible experience which left an even worse first impression of SollyM as a company. If you do not mind being treated in a condescending, passive-aggressive disrespectful manner while placing an order online, then Zain Ebrahim from SollyM Sports is the perfect person to reach out to
