STARWOOD SUPERSPAR SELLING EXPIRED MEAT.
I purchased 2 tray culls on the 12/03/2025 and I have the receipt which I will attach. When I took out the culls to cook I noticed one sell by date was 18/03/2025 and the other tray best before “08/11/2024” this is a big issue regarding health standards. A manager by the name of derika called me and her excuse is that they must have forgotten to change the date on the sticker machine that’s used to label it as if I was born yesterday.I have purchased sausages in the same store a few weeks ago and it was off I did report it to the manager by the name of Mike he offered to refund but due to work I couldn’t make it to go back to the store so I overlooked it and now it’s this. If you sell things with 2024 dates in your store you heading for disaster. I have reported it to the department of health and awaiting feedback if I am not satisfied I will lodge a complaint to the consumer commission because this meat is probably contaminated, impure, or decayed and is a violation of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act.

07 Apr 2025, 11:35Update : on the 06/04/2024 Starwood spar did replace the product with a non expired one and took back the expired meat. However I will leave it to the store manager and the relevant Authorities who I advised about this matter to investigate further on how did 2024 meat get into the store in 2025 and I will post further feedback once received.
According to customer service The store’s policy says it must be replaced but that does not mean it ends there after being replaced because if that meat was consumed it would have lead to serious food poisoning. I was advised that they are querying the matter with their suppliers but Starwood Superspar needs to be accountable because it is being sold in their store. I accepted a sorry for the first incident now I’m going to go a little deeper into this one for the health and safety of other shoppers and awareness. After sharing my experience I have others that told me similar incidents regarding this store so there is definitely issues that needs to be addressed.
