Trust that this complaint fins you well and a quick resolution is appreciated. Today dated 16/10/2025 mysef and my mother and 8 year old daughter went to the Starwood Spar with hope to purchase an item that was posted on the Spar Whatsapp group on sale at R7,99. Upon arriving at the store I took the icecream valued at approximately R1000 worth of ice creams , which was going to be purchased . When I went to the checkout the cashier stated that they were no longer on sale and I then showed the special on the Whatsapp platform she then called a manager named Nicolen and we then got int an argument I believe that this escalated because of his aggressive demenour he raised his voice demanding that I get out the store, and he even stated that i should not purchase these items and leave the store .My daughter was traumtised and my mother who previously worked for the Pick and Pay brand was trying to calm the situation telling the manager about customer service protocols. Then the store manager named Wenzil arrived I then had hope and believed that the situation would be resolved and Nicolen will be dealt with appropriately because off his rude and offensive behavior however the store manager was rude and arragant and even stated false information that on the AD stated that they have the right to refuse a customer of purchase which i then corrected him stating that it mentioned that they can only allow a customer to purchase a certain amount and nothing of such which he had stated ...he still insisted that they had the right to refused people service and nothing about the supervisors behaviour...he then mentioned that I'm challenging him as a person which was completely not in character of the situation. This is unexcptable and as a consumer I demand a wriiten apology from both. N neither did I receive what I came in for . There were several people shopping and they were indeed disgusted and to make matters worse I even advised bothe manager and supervisor that the icecreams where being purchased for a feeding scheme for the underpriviledge kid. Spar as a brand has been tarnished and disgraced due to poor management.

The Customer isn't always right? I shop at Starwood Super Spar on a very regular basis, monthly and the lunchbox convenience from their deli. Here's the catch, it's month end, I buy the list of items but opt for their promotions instore as its cost effective. Only for seeing an item at R42, the cashier scans with rewards card with the item being at R62 - that's the full price. Nevertheless, I didn't see this at the store, I checked my receipt because we purchased an air mist room freshener that my son says wasn't packed into our shopping - the receipt shows paid but no item. Here's already 2 items over charging me at R60. The best is when you contact customer enquiries, the store phone doesn't work. Contacting the store manager is futile - How are you upholding your customer in the customer is always right? Your on site manager made me stand at your kiosk counter whilst they review camera footage for the item not packed into my bags. Then to add further insult to injury - your staff never acknowledged that the item prices were not changed on the shelves, so I can lose R60. 00 but you won't even bother to know who is the customer and why I had to come to the store to correct your staff. These errors may seem minute at store level, but there are many instore cameras and the actual person that pays your salary is saying, I am completely disgusted with their ******** intent towards paying customers, and not once apologising for these so called minute mistakes. I should not be called into your store to remind you that customer service is part and parcel of your job description, be it a complaint or compliment - it deserves preference and the priority. Shoprite would apologise with a voucher, here. I am literally saying, false advertising is NOT allowed, please don't rob, yes Rob because on that day you gained enough on your bottom line margins to have made any shortfalls for your month end.

Today I shopped at spar,we had a 1.5l coke at the bottom of the basket and didn't notice we didn't put it on the counter, on our way out we saw we forgot to pay for the coke,we took the coke back to the same cashier NOSIPHO M and she questioned us as if we tried to ***** the cooldrink asking how can we forget to cash for it,for a 21rand coke, workers like her shouldn't be workn in retail because she doesn't know how to deal with customers,as we are regular customers we was treated very bad!!!another Indian worker had to come assist as nosipho was busy speaking in Zulu and didn't want to cash for the coke.

I purchased 2 tray culls on the 12/03/2025 and I have the receipt which I will attach. When I took out the culls to cook I noticed one sell by date was 18/03/2025 and the other tray best before “08/11/2024” this is a big issue regarding health standards. A manager by the name of derika called me and her excuse is that they must have forgotten to change the date on the sticker machine that’s used to label it as if I was born yesterday.I have purchased sausages in the same store a few weeks ago and it was off I did report it to the manager by the name of Mike he offered to refund but due to work I couldn’t make it to go back to the store so I overlooked it and now it’s this. If you sell things with 2024 dates in your store you heading for disaster. I have reported it to the department of health and awaiting feedback if I am not satisfied I will lodge a complaint to the consumer commission because this meat is probably contaminated, impure, or decayed and is a violation of the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act.

Starwood Superspar ripping people off their hard earned money by forcing shoppers to buy for R50 or more to get a cashback. I'm utterly disgusted by this as it's never happened at any other retailer store.

I ordered at spsr2u and they delivered rotten snow***** with a bad stinge. A minute later after the delivery was done on the 28 march 2025 I called the shop to report this and they told me to wait a driver was gonna come pick up the item and refund would be done I waited and nothing happened I called multiple times requested a manager and was given a runaround until I spoke to one lady that said they attend to my issue the next day. I called this morning I was disconnected multiple times until I spoke with another lady who told me she couldn't let me speak with the manager cause he was on the store floor. I have recordings of the above mentioned calls as well

To be honest, this store does not even deserve a 1 star rating. I have used the spar2u app on 16 December 2024. There were items in my cart that was out of stock. I waited 14 days for my refund which never happened. Since then i have been calling the store to follow up on my refund with no resolution. I spoke to someone informing me that my refund has been issued on 13 January 2025 and this has not happened. I sent a follow up email attaching my bank statement as proof that i did not receive the refund on 21 February 2025 and to date have not received a response.
