This GYM COMPANY IS A ****‼️‼️‼️ I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO JOIN IN BECAUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT‼️‼️‼️‼️ I joined the gym in 2021 as I reside in Sky City because it was convenient for me. I could easily jog or walk to the gym. Now that the gym decided to move elsewhere without our engagement, I decided not be a member anymore because I don’t know where they moved to as I was not fami**** with the area. No letters, emails, SMS’s or any form of communication was done but just a note on the door 🚪 when I had my bag and ready for training that they had moved elsewhere. I stopped paying because the gym is far from my place and didn’t sign up to gym where they are currently. Been getting CALLS FROM NIMBLE that I owe the gym an amount of 10K. How??? NO one spoke to anyone when they moved!!! They wanted to grow their clientele. I reversed all debits because I was no longer going to the gym as I didn’t know where they are, didn’t have transportation to go the gym. If anything, they are the ones that should be apologetic to their clients because we still stay at Sky City, we didn’t move but they did. Now, they are tarnishing my name as I’ve been handed over to NIMBLES. Doesn’t NIMBLE enquire on why is the client no longer paying?? They just put one’s name under review as if one is a bad payer. ****MERS!!!!! When you call their accounts department, no one is available to assist. Either the person is off SICK, or just didn’t come to work. This is totally uncalled for because of they were still at Sky City, I’d still be a member because they served my purpose by being closer to home. Now that they had moved, I see no reason to continue paying. Am I being unreasonable???? I don’t think so‼️‼️‼️‼️

I don't even remember which year I visited the sport & Fitness Club in Alberton as I was interested in joining as the consultant was explaining I was loving what was explained and promised I then signed which was my 1st mistake, as the consultant was explaing I asked what happens if for some reason I am unable to come to the gym anymore and he says they will still deduct or I would need to cancel and then pay the cancelation fee which was alot I was not happy with that because there was a possibility that I would move from where I was staying then and I then told the consultant that I would rather come back when I'm sure that I would be able to come to the gym for the full terms of the contract as I would not want to keep on paying for gym when I can't make it and the cancelation fee is also too much to pay. The worst mistake was not making sure the guy tears the contract and instead he files it,i leave thinking I don't have a gym contract. Now years later without any contact from their collection department, no sms notification of outstanding debt due to them, no email from collections and I mean no means of contact to advise me that the application was filed and due to this I owe the gym, in 2018 I now receive an sms that says my sport & Fitness account is blacklisted. I call to follow up what's happening the lady says she has the contract that I signed so clearly for commission purposes that guy never did as I ask for interest sake I ask how much I'm I owing she says R9000 now I'm trying to understand how they would have let a debt be that much for a premium that's supposed to be 200 odds every month, who then was renewing the contract as I have never even went for a day to gym. I then ask the accounts lady to pls send me a copy of the dates and how I was notified about this debt as now I'm blacklisted and I'm still waiting. I know no one from sport and fitness will read or respond to this review but one thing is forsure this matter I am not letting it lie down I will fight because you cannot and I mean cannot blacklist a person without trying to do some sort of collection of the debt. Ombuds and any other way I will find a way to fight for this

Hi
My name is Sbusiso Gwala I joined the GYM Membership on the 24 of July 2015. Fitness Center in Alberton, their number is 011 869 1116 contact Person I dealt with was Jackie Barnard [Email Removed]

Most of the times when I try to go to the GYM it is either Full or there is no assistance hence I have hardly utilized my GYM Membership. I have decided to cancel my GYM membership because I cant use their services anymore. When I spoke to Jackie Barnard she informed me unfortunately I can not cancel it until August 2018 when it expires. If I need to cancel it I need to pay 50% of my Monthly Contract fee for 24 months or find someone who will take over my contract and pay R650.

I find that strange because I will not be using their service why would I pay for the contract. And I have found her attitude very rude and unprofessional when dealing the this issue. I do not work for them and I will not find or look for someone to cancel my GYM contract. There is no law in South Africa which prevents someone from cancelling a membership. But these people seem to running their business in a way that is not fair.

I want them to cancel my GYM membership

I had a 3 year contract with the gym which has expired on the 19th October 2015. Knowing that the contract had now expired, I contacted the gym in early November to confirm cancellation of my contract. However, upon contacting them, their response was that I should give them a 3 months' notice to cancel the contract after expiration because I had failed to communicate that I intend to cancel the contract 30 dfays before the expiration of the contract.
I informed that in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), specifically S14(2)(c) & (d) they had an obligation to inform me of the coming termination date not less than 40 days before the termination date and the consequences of not confirming my intention to cancel the contract before the termination date. The simple logic to this is that they have the copy of the contract and the termination terms and I do not. Furthermore the contract is supposed to be extended on a month-to-month basis and that the clause of a 3 months notice is unfair and not comply with the CPA.
They are still refusing to cancel my contract until only after 3 months. I will also be making a referral to the consumer affairs office in Gauteng on this matter.
