I visited Badgers Grill at Springbok Inn for Sunday lunch on 29 June 2025 with my family and ordered the Eisbein with creamy mash. They were out of mash, and I gladly accepted savoury rice as a substitute.
The issue arose when I began cutting into the Eisbein. The exterior was extremely tough, and the interior was visibly raw. I raised the concern with the waiter, who took the meal back to the kitchen. However, I decided it was unsafe and requested a different meal (steak), which I paid for - not a problem in itself.
I then asked the supervisor for a written acknowledgment that I had been served raw pork, which poses a serious health risk. She responded with unnecessary attitude and told me the manager would contact me on Monday, 30 June 2025. Unsurprisingly, I never received any communication from the manager.
Serving raw pork is a serious food safety violation, and the restaurant's poor handling of the situation raises concerns about both their kitchen standards and customer care.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE. Based on my experience, I believe this restaurant requires urgent inspection by health authorities.
