I returned a Ryobi belt sander to Stevens & Co on 5 May 2025 as the machine was defective and still under a 2 year warranty. Said supplier advised me via the merchant that the machine had been cleaned and "was working perfectly" under Ryobi Job Card 531825.
Upon receipt of the machine on 29 May 2025, exactly the same fault was found as originally advised. Nothing had been done to repair the article.
On a positive note, on phoning Eric at Stevens & Co and explaining the above, he promised to replace the machine immediately. 4 June 2025 and I'm still waiting for the replacement.
