I returned a Ryobi belt sander to Stevens & Co on 5 May 2025 as the machine was defective and still under a 2 year warranty. Said supplier advised me via the merchant that the machine had been cleaned and "was working perfectly" under Ryobi Job Card 531825. Upon receipt of the machine on 29 May 2025, exactly the same fault was found as originally advised. Nothing had been done to repair the article. On a positive note, on phoning Eric at Stevens & Co and explaining the above, he promised to replace the machine immediately. 4 June 2025 and I'm still waiting for the replacement.

My father has been a customer of Nedbank in excess of 50 years. He is 90 years of age and suffers from extreme arthritis and rheumatism and consequently cannot write or sign his name any longer. Due to this condition, he decided to appoint myself (his son) and my wife as Powers of Attorney for his banking matters. My father, my wife and I went to Nedbank River Square, Three Rivers, Vereeniging on 16 October 2019 in order to complete the PoA forms. This process took over 3 hours as we were continuously transferred from one staff member to the next before this relatively simple process could be finalized. In my opinion this is extraordinarily long and was clearly an exhausting experience for a person 90 years of age!!! The River Square branch manager eventually intervened in order to complete the PoA forms. On 20 November 2019, my father requested that I renew one of his Nedbank investments which is maturing on 24 November. Lo and behold, when I tried to renew this investment, I was advised by the staff member that the PoA had not yet been loaded on the Nedbank system!!!! This is over 1 month since the PoA forms were completed and signed. Does Nedbank not have any loyalty for a customer who has banked with yourselves since the days when it was still the Netherlands Bank of SA?? However, the saga still continues. On 2 September 2020, I had to again renew one of my father’s investments at Nedbank River Square and, lo and behold, my POA’s WERE STILL NOT LOADED ON THEIR SYSTEM. It is exactly 11 months that the POA’s were signed at this branch. What must a person do in order to get this matter resolved!!!!!
I required some repairs to be done on my lapa that had previously been serviced by Swazi Shades. After attempting to contact the owner Roelof via Whatsapp, SMS and calling, he eventually answered the phone after the 4th call. He advised that he would contact me later that day. True to form, there was no return call. I again called Roelof the next day and he made an appointment with me for a Friday morning. As expected, he did not arrive and has never tried to contact me again. Absolutely ****ty service; don't even attempt to contact this supposed thatching supplier.
