Do not trust Storage Genie, Had a unit with them for over 2 years. Ended up the onsite manager drilled open the locking mechanism and stole out the unit. Their investigation is absolutely pathetic. Once I moved out, they simply not interested in refunding a credit I had on my account. Their management is absolutely useless.

Do not trust Storage Genie, Had a unit with them for over 2 years. Ended up the onsite manager drilled open the locking mechanism and stole out the unit. Their investigation is absolutely pathetic. Canceled my unit in November 2018. As per the contract, got a phone call from a debt collector a year later. After all the evidence presented, still no refund. Stay away from this useless company.

Went as a new customer and Leanne who works there, her husband and daughter all refused to wear masks, because “they don’t feel like it!” Totally unacceptable, disgusting behavior and a criminal offense!!!!

Stored our household contents into Storage Genie Edenglen facility on 16 November 2020. On 21 November 2020, Mack the manager at the unit informed us that our unit had water in it from the flooding of the allay way next to our unit ( water flowed under our roller-door into the unit). This was the week that all the floods in the Centurion, JHB area. We were told that he informed his head office and sent photos. By the Monday, the floor that we could see in our unit was dry. So we thought all was good until we moved our household contents out at the end of April 2021 into our new home. The boxes all the way to the back of the unit were had mould, the contents at the bottom of the boxes was all mouldy and our furniture was damaged and rusty. On inquiring from Storage Genie via email and numerous telephone calls, I have had no response other that "we will investigate and get back to you". I know the contents are not covered if there is damage but the damage was due to Storage Genies facility not being waterproofed. The damage was not due to our negligence but Storage Genies.

Our NPO organisation moved out of Storage Genie unit in Boksburg at the end of May 2020. We requested our deposit refund and have been told repeatedly that it has been processed for payment, but we're still waiting. The company must be quite desperate if they can't refund the NPO a deposit of R800.

My husband and I lived in Namibia. With Covid, our permits got declined. We had to resign, pack up our life in Namibia and move back to South Africa. We paid a deposit of R1200.00 to Storage Genie Edenvale for a container because we though we could quarantine nearby. One day later the authorities called and said our name is on the list we can go to the border, but we will be qaurantined in Upington. We had to cancel that container and get a new one closer to my inlaws so that someone can atleast accept and sign for our furniture. We tried getting our deposit back from storage genie. Unfortunately the reception lady Shanda said that her boss does not want to refund us as he wants to investigate it first. We paid them in May 2020. It has been 7 motlnths now. They did not have to keep the container for months before we cancelled, it was just ONE day after receiving the payment. I worked in transport and has never experienced this. Whenever someone pays you and a service is not rendered you pay back the money!!
