So this past Saturday was comic con. I arrived to park past 9 am. The metered parking is between 8 and 1 on Saturdays. When I arrived, I saw no marshal. I even took my own time too and didn’t rush to leave my car. I then left the con around 2pm, not yet noticing the ticket on my windshield. On my way to canal walk I kept hearing this fluttering sound. There it was, the ticket. When I arrived at canal walk, I finally had the chance to look at it. And the profound look on my face - It said the total was R0…I’m very much online oriented so I thought to go to the website listed on the ticket. I then used their emailing system. It was quite frustrating, and felt like I wasn’t at fault. So today is Tuesday, and they finally got back to me based on what I sent them on their website. They then gave me a link to pay them a whopping R10…seriously… I paid it and sent them the proof of payment on the email thread. They said they needed the PoP to update the system. I sent it and they acknowledged it. So I’m just left hoping now that they’ve actually done so. But this experience has left me astounded by the lack of professionalism. They should definitely include a payment link on the ticket instead of going through all these hoops.
