Pathetic service
Go at your own risk. I would not recommend anyone to Tafita Auto Service due to the worst unprofessional service I received. I was taken advantage of because I am a single woman and I have no idea about car repairs. I took my car for wheel bearing and hub replacement. In the process they damaged my ABS sensor. They removed one sensor and told me they will take it for testing and fix the problem. It's more than 2 months they have not fixed my car and they refused to give me back my sensor that they removed from my car. I regret making a decision to take my car to Joburg whereas I leave garages in Pretoria. I never received a job card even after asking for one. Never given wheel alignment report. Old parts where never given to me but they claimed to have replaced parts. Very cruel team.

Technically OK but otherwise unreliable, untrustworthy, unresponsive
Ernest and his mechanics worked on my Hyundai ATOS for several weeks. Initially I was satisfied with their work as well as responses to e-mails and phone calls. However, about three weeks ago Ernest started to refuse to pick up his cellphone or answer e-mails. He began making promises to come to my house at certain times but simply did not show up. He knew that besides the ATOS I have no other transport and cannot even buy food, Yet when asking to tell me when he will come to my house, he refused to answer phone calls or e-mails. He has not finished the last job of acquiring and installing an alternator and making it work in the ATOS. Although I already paid him R3220 for this job, he still needs to inspect the alternator connections, remove the alternator if defective, take it back to the store and exchange it, and reinstall it. I don't know why he changed his attitude and has become totally untrustworthy. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE? Yet he is completely unresponsive and unavailable,

unreliable, untrustworthy mobile mechanics
I called them because they advertised as a mobile auto service company (even though they also have a workshop in Jhb). Initially they were on time, did a thorough job, presented sales slips when buying a part, indicated in e-mail the next visit. Although I always paid them on time, they became unreliable, no longer answered phone calls or e-mails, started overcharging, did not finish the job but refused to indicate when they will come to finish it even when they knew that I have no other transport and needed to go shopping. Beware of mobile mechanics whenever a particular job cannot be finished in one day. Especially when your car is partially disassembled, or when they take some parts with them. Most of them are technically good but totally untrustworthy on the business side..
