I bought a shoe rack at Takealot in April 2026. Upon arrival, I stored it since I was due to move in May 2026. I opened the item when I was at the new address 6 weeks later, only then did I realize that the item was wrong; it was what looked like a desk, far from the shoe rack I ordered. I immediately logged an exchange, and the system allowed it since the warranty was listed for 6 months post-purchase date.
The return was dropped off at one of the pickup centres, and 2 days later, an email reply was received stating that the return was past 30 days. They will be returning the item to an address that I have moved from, and I do not receive it, they will deem it abandoned and destroy it. The nerve!.
Zero accountability for sending the wrong item and the condescending response. I am super annoyed.
