Refusal to refund rental deposit
My issue with Targer Realty is that there is no transparency in their dealings. I asked them to send me a trail of their conversations with the previous owner Mr George Coetzee to understand what the owner said about my deposit. They have not responded at all. The sale of the apartment was done during my stay at the apartment. The owner used another Agency to sell the apartment on his behalf. My question is why did he not use Targer Realty to facilitate the sale? It feels as though Targer Realty wants to scam me.

We used to manage the property on behalf of the Landlord.
He was really concerned about the impact of the COVID lock-downs on property market and sold all his properties in a panic at rock bottom prices. (We were advising him to hang on and not sell, so he used another agency).
Concerning the deposit:
We communicated clearly with you and interceded on your behalf with the landlord and he reduced the amount deducted for the dirt and damages you caused. (Cleaning, Fumigation and Painting).

My MD has discussed your final recon with the owner, and the owner is in agreement with the revised charges as per the attached spreadsheet. Your final deposit recon is therefore as follows . (We will make payment of R 2 041.92 to you as per the spreadsheet below) Balance Brought Forward R 0.00
Painting Cleaning and Fumigation R 5 145.00
Deposit from trust ( 28 April 2021) R 7186.92
Balance paid to you R 2 041.92
