I purchased a bed and mattress from Bed Doctor in March 2023, but only took delivery in September 2023 due to moving into a new home. On delivery, I immediately noticed that the mattress was damaged. After engaging with Bed Doctor, the mattress was eventually replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement mattress has also proven to be problematic. After approximately one year of actual use (averaging around 4 hours per day), the mattress has developed serious issues. The edges have sagged and collapsed, despite the mattress being sold as a “no break edge” mattress. In addition, the bed makes excessive noise during normal use, which directly contradicts the “no disturb” claims made at the time of purchase. I contacted Bed Doctor again, and an accessor was sent out. It was only during this visit that my household and I were properly informed about how the mattress supposedly works and its limitations — information that was never explained at the point of sale. This matter was then escalated to head office. Bed Doctor’s proposed resolutions were: Replacing the mattress with a different model at an additional cost of R5,000, or Providing another mattress if I paid R2,000 upfront. I find this extremely unfair. The mattress has failed under normal, reasonable use and well within what should be an acceptable lifespan for a product of this nature. There has been no misuse or negligence on my part. The issues experienced are clearly related to product quality, not consumer behaviour. I do not believe it is reasonable for a customer to be asked to pay extra to replace a product that is defective and does not meet the performance standards it was sold under. I am sharing this experience to highlight concerns around product quality, transparency at point of sale, and after-sales support. I am still seeking a fair resolution that does not require me to pay for a defective product.

Yesterday we were looking at Beds at the Gateway stand just outside pep stores and what a rude sales person you have😡, the guy looked like he was drunk and told us straight to get off , he said your company couldn’t be bothered about customers. I asked him time and again if this is how The Bed Doctor treats its customers he told me he doesn’t give a ****. It was a black guy fairly young and clearly not schooled on how business works, I personally will never set foot in any of your shops again because of this experience, and also be going to all platforms i can to share this ********** experience

If I could, I would not give any stars. Their customer service is disgusting. The owner stands in Gateway and his stand. We were just having a look at the beds as we walked by. He came to us and assisted however we were not really looking to purchase a bed and we had in the past purchased 8 beds from the bed doctor. I saw one that caught my eye and asked about it, a 3/4 pillow top bed that wad quite nice. He said it was R3500 and we continued, as we left he called us back and tried to bargain a deal for the sale of that bed at R2500 at which we agreed. Purchased the bed and a few days on I had arranged for a delivery to collect the bed from the Springfield branch. Upon receiving the bed we noticed that this bed was as hard and a piece of board, definitely not what I had purchased, intact the design and coloutlr were also different. The next morning I called and was promised the bed will be exchanged by that afternoon, from there is was just excuses and false information. That weekend I went to Gateway and the owner was there selling his beds, I told him about the issue and this bed was purchased for my sickly father as a father's day gift, I explained to him that this is unacceptable and that my dad was sleeping on this hard uncomfortable bed for almost a week with no exchange and just empty misleading promises. He became so angry and began disrespecting me with a raised voice in the middle of Gateway as if this had been my fault. He says that the reason the bed is not as soft and the one on show is because clients had been using them which is not true because this was the 9th bed I was purchasing from them so I know it's not true and just another sad excuse. He became so embarrassing and then proceeded to call his wife and talk about us saying that for a R2500 bed that we are abusing him. Our intention firstly was not to even purchase a bed and he was the person that called us back to bargain just to make the sale. I own a business of my own and so does my family but this is not how you treat customers, especially customers that have been supporting you for 8 years. I said to him that you are misleading clients by showing an item for sale and giving them something different in return. From having being promised this exchange the next afternoon, my dad slept on it for an entire week before anything was done. When you call, there are always excuses, you talk to different people al the time because when you ask to speak to one person, that person has stepped out or the manager is unavailable or some excuse. As a long time customer to the bed doctor, I will never again purchase from them and not die to the fact that the exchange took so long but due to the fact that the owner is such a disrespectful person and will stand there in front of other clients arguing yet it his a fault on their side. My advice to anyone is, if they cannot exchange something that was their fault to begin with, Goodluck with claiming on the guarantee or warranty of the bed. Think twice before you buy from them

I recently purchased Hotel Delux Bed from the Springfield Branch and I must take my hat off to the staff as well as the owners Sue and Shilton. They take time in understanding exactly what you're looking for and deliver 100% quality . The best Bed business on the market!

My experience with The Bed Doctor was 10/10. Exceptional staff and service. The beds are beautiful. I purchased my bed 2 years ago and my bed is still amazing. i have recommended The Bed Doctor to all my family members and they have all purchased their beds from The Bed Doctor. Even with their customer service, they take care of you to the end - from the purchase of the bed to the delivery service and to the after sales customer service. Absolutely amazing! Thank you Bed Doctor for taking care of us.
