I recently started working around the corner from Ferndale on Republic, and my absolute favorite spot for lunch has quickly become The Daily Coffee Café. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and the food and coffee are truly amazing. I went there on Tuesday for a friend’s birthday lunch. I had the avocado on a bagel, and she ordered the southern fried chicken bagel (or something close to it). Both meals were absolutely delicious! I’d highly recommend The Daily Coffee Café for a relaxed lunch or even just a great cup of coffee.

Had the most unpleasant experience today at the daily and I will never support them again. I will rather stop at Mugg and Bean whose atmosphere is much more welcome. Today I was very impolitely told by the owner that my 15 month old son was damaging the table as he banged on the table with a s**** all of 3 times. I haven’t even registered yet what he was doing before the owner was there in a heartbeat to tell me off and just made me feel very unwelcome. As a mother to a busy toddler I rarely go out for a cup of coffee, today because of the weather being rainy and I didn’t feel like going home just yet, I thought why not give it a try and I was quite happy sitting there with my baby for once being so amicable and happy only to have my entire morning ruined.

Got to the cafe a ordered within the first 5 minutes of being there. After waiting for my food (a sandwich) for 40 minutes, I called my waiter to ask when my food will be ready, he said that it is almost done. I informed him that I’d like the bill to pay for my cooldrink as I have to leave for work. He then came back with the manager who then told me my food is ready. I told her that the service is very slow and that waiting 40 minutes for a sandwich is unacceptable. She then rudely told the waiter to “bring this girl her bill”. I paid and left feeling quite upset after being belittled and treated so poorly.
