In the middle of Jan. 2014 I signed a 1 year Gym contract with The Fitness Factory in Kathu - Northern Cape. I paid the pro-rata amount for Jan'14 + the membership fee for Feb'14 in cash. The end of Feb'14 my membership went off my bank via debit order (R220). My membership expired Jan. 2015 already, however a membership fee of R220 went off my bank again end of Jan'15 + end of Feb'15 and an amount of R250 for end Mar'15. I did spoke to the receptionist in Jan'15 and she said that my contract will expire automatically + the debit order stopped by them. I sent them numerous e-mails from Feb. on their website but didn't get any reply. I phoned them 30 March again and the receptionist told me that I must give a month notice to stop my contract (which I think is illegal because I signed a 1 year contract only with no such terms as notice!!). She said the premium increased to R250 from end Mar. I want my money back because this is breach of contract. I cannot stop the debit order at my bank, Nedbank told me that Fitness Factory must cancel it. What am I to do?
