Last year on the 11th of November I went to Thekwini Toyota dealership with my partner to check for a car for the business. We were approached a white guy called Pepe Dameco to offer his assistance. After showing us a few cars I was compelled and convinced to check if my business will qualify since its still only 2 years old (WHICH WAS LIE TO GET ME TO DO A PRE APPROVAL CHECK BECAUSE I WAS LATER TOLD ITS ONLY 18 MONTHS THATS NEEDED). He said I am provisionally approved but will need more docs which went on for like a week. Later i was told all the banks declined me except for 1 which would require R120,000 since I am only running for 2yrs. I never got a quotation or proof of anything, I was never asked about the terms of the deal i wanted like the number of years for payment, ballon payment and so on. Being a novice in the industry, I followed through on all his requests. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS PAYING THE DEPOSIT OF R120K WITHOUT BEING PATIENT BECAUSE I ALREADY TRUSTED HIM (PEPE DAMECO) but i guess a sales man will always be a sales man. So I requested for a black car but he said they dont have black in that model and then I said white with a black roof was fine, then he told me that i would have to pay for the wrapping of the roof and the wheels with my installment. After I had already paid the deposit, i realized there was too much push for me to come and sign which made me suspicious. To cut the long story short I seek advice from a professional friend.and another dealership who advised I request for my deposit back. ALL I WANT IS JUST MY DEPOSIT BACK.(R120,000) BUT PEPE AND HIS MANAGER BY THE NAME OF NEEL HAVE BEEN SO DISRESPECTFUL AND PLAYING ME UP AND DOWN BECAUSE I AM A YOUNG AFRICAN L

This pertains to Westville..Have had issues every instance when taking in my vehicle for its annual service...also no competent assistance when querying options for a new vehicle purchase. Tried to contact the Dealer Principal last week and provided my contact details to the front desk for him to call back. To date no response.....well done on your arrogance.

November 2024 we bought a Ople crossland from Tekwini Toyota kokstad Our salesman Edward was doing a great job at doing the deal of purchase until he delivered the vehicle on the 25th of November, as we live in Pinetown, we noticed a few faults with the vehicle and reported it to Edward on the 28th of November, there was hail damage on the vehicle including other faults such as 1. No license disc and number plates, which he did not explain to us that we have to get it done because we are too far out for them to sort out, so why didn't he do it before delivery. 2. The a parking aid fault message pops up on the dashboard screen and there's no warning/ beeping sound if you are too close to anything to warn you. 3. The clutch packed up and the vehicle couldn't move forward or backward in the selected gears. Eventually the manager got involved Nkanyiso and he arranged for the vehicle to be picked up by Toyota Westville only on the 23rd of December with a courtesy car that we had with us right up until the 26th of January, we then noticed that the vehicle came back with an oil leak and the parking aid fault was not seen to, so we contact Edward the salesman and he tells us that the manager is no longer working there and we will have to take it up with Dave Boetes the regional manager, as he has the final say, ok we brought it to Dave's attention as he knew very well of the issues we mentioned before the car went into Toyota Westville. Dave told us to take the vehicle to Key Delta as they are the agents who deal with Ople and that we must use the motor plan that we have on the vehicle and that he will pay for the inspection/diagnostics that needs to be done on the vehicle,we go to Key Delta only to find out that payment has to be made by us as Dave changed his story and said the motor plan we have on the vehicle must pay for it, again we go to Thekwini Pinetown to help us as we don't want this vehicle anymore and he says he can't help us like that because we didn't buy the vehicle by him but he can arrange for the vehicle to go back to Toyota Westville to try sort out the oil leak and the parking aid fault, ok vehicle gets booked in only for Toyota Westville to call and tell us they can't find where's the oil leak coming from and they can't fix the parking aid fault either because it's not their brand of vehicle so again nothing got sorted out on the vehicle and the best part of it all Dave is no longer available he also ran away from his mess up's. All we wanted was for them to get the vehicle sorted out and returned with no issues and fault's. It's rotten people like that who bring big companies to shame. PS. Karma is a patient gangster.

They did not fix my car properly the 1st time , when i returned it (return job) they did not care to give me a courtesy car while they make plans to fix my car properly again, so that i could continue with my plans. Very dissapointed. Both the branch manager and the managing director of the dealership did not care about the inconvinience they have caused me and family this Dec 2023.

I'm so unhappy with the treatment I received when buying a car from them last week their salesman treated me unfairly I feel they took advantage of me as a single woman who doesn't know much about buying a car . I went for Toyota with trust I first phoned the company quering about adverti*****t they have on future drive they transfered me to salesman who did not even tell me about how future drive works Firsty I e mailed everything only to find that on their application for finance does not match my monthly income it was increased 2.When I got there I told Nhlanhla that when I'm stretched I can pay about R8000 and I feel that a new car will be costly and I saw their pre owned cars he said buying a brand new car is cheaper . 3.He **** and said the pre owned car that I saw the whole front has been changed its not the original and that it will give me problems. 4.He never told me the price of the car we only spoke about the installments. 5.I kept telling them I can not afford and they kept saying that they are giving me a discount up until they convince me to take the car on Friday the 13th at something to 18h00 without signing anything and they asked me to come back and sign on Tuesday the 17th of October. I asked on Tuesday if I can return the car they told me no 6.Yesterday I was here and Dave the manager is refusing to take the car even if I tell him What happened now he says I can only trade in the car and I have a R100 000 shot fall 7.Im still waiting for them now Dave does not want to trade in the car Toyota hilux gd6 for an older one 8.i am a nurse and my hours of work demands me to have a car they making me.wait again today and I'm coming from work I'm tired yesterday I was here the whole day

I had purchased a 2018 Toyota Hilix Double Cab from the above mentioned dealership in May 2022. The vehicle was involved in an accident which was not disclosed to me. I was told the vehicle was very clean for the age and mileage. After obtaining the vehicle, now I am picking up the aftermath of the structural and panel beating work that was previously done. The Bin is forming rust, holes were re drilled in order to place tail lights, tail lights are not linning up. After months of complaining and taking the matter up with Toyota South Africa, I was told to take the vehicle to an approved Toyota repairer for a quote to repair the vehicle. After a month or more of telephone calls with the dealership as well as Toyota South Africa the dealership came back to me and said that they cannot afford to repair the vehicle as it is not in their budget to repair and wanted me to send the vehicle to a non reputable panel shop to get the vehicle repaired. When I refused, they told me that they will take the vehicle back but will knock off R80K from the oroginal purchase price. I am truly disgusted by this service from Thekwini Toyota as well as Toyota South Africa. I must say that owning Toyota vehiclesfrom 2013 and currently this service is absolutely pathetic and I wish to state that I will not refer anyone whom I know to purchase any Toyota products as well as I will be selling my fleet of Toyota bakkies and replacing them with a different brand. I was also told by Toyota South Africa that unfortunately they cannot intervene any further. This is absolutely pathetic from a world renowned brand like Toyota.

I have purchased many Toyota vehicles all brand new over the years. At the beginning of 2022 I purchased a brand new Toyota Hilux Double Cab with all the extras fitted on at the Branch. From the 07/03/2022 I have been sending through complaints to the Branch notifying them that the vehicle has a miss and occasionally jerks especially when driving on highways and freeways. They took the vehicle in once and said the problem is sorted out. unfortunately for me the problem was never sorted as it still jerks right up until yesterday. The second issue i have is that every time it rains the left passenger door gets flooded with water. it has now become my problem to keep releasing/draining that water. I have reached a stage of total frustration as this vehicle that i purchased definitely did not meet the quality checks of Toyota. I am not impressed with the customer service that I have received from Toyota. The Toyota Hilux is also not an entry level vehicle and cost me a huge sum of money. Clearly you are only a valued customer at the time of a sale.
