I have been a customer of this shop for over 20 years, but the service I got recently left me in shock. I physically dropped a studio monitor for repairs. I got a quote of R700 on 26 February 2026. I made payment the following day on 27 February 2026 and emailed Mark Williams proof of payment. I asked him to have the speaker ready and let me know so that I will send courier to collect. This was a standard communication ever since I dropped the speaker for repairs. I did not receive a call to say the speaker is ready for collection. A week later I called the shop so that I can sent for collection only to be told that the speaker was collected by Uber. I called Mark to understand what was going on, he told me someone came to collect the speaker at the shop. I requested to see the collection documents, IDs or car registration numbers, but none was available. They don't have proof of collection. I called the owner Mr Peter Tuerk to ask him to investigate the matter. He promised to check with his team. I waited for 2 days to follow up on the progress. He told me they claimed that I sent an Uber to collect and that they acted on my instruction. I find this explanation perplexing. As an internal control there was supposed to be proof of identification or at least a call from the store to confirm with me before releasing the speaker. This is a stand CPA procedure.
