Sub-standard material
Initially had a very pleasant experience with Ubersolar. Two initial installations followed by a third plus an extension. Then the system started acting up. One pump packed up, which they replaced, then I had multiple leaks. Each time Uber would fix them. Fair play. The final leak caused heavy damage to my ceiling boards. Their repairman told me it was a geyser burst, not their installation. They gave me a quote to replace the geyser and ceiling. I contacted my insurance, who sent an inspection team. Turns out, it was sub-standard material (toilet style stop**** and plastic piping) that had caused the leak. Insurance refused to pay, quoting long-term leakage as the issue. So Uber actually lied about the geyser. The second geyser they installed for also had the same issue. Who uses plastic piping, and cheap stop****s on a heating system? Needless to say, I don't trust that they will fix the issue properly, so am currently sitting with a system that is not being used.

05 Nov 2021, 09:25After being contacted by James from Ubersolar, and with the professional way he and his team have handled the issue, I now wish to amend my review above. On my part, there are a couple of mistakes that I made: 1. I thought the solar system had a 2-year warranty, which was why I finally got Standard Bank involved. Ubersolar comes with a 10-year warranty. 2. I believed the panel plumbers, who were either negligent, or checked the wrong geyser, who knows. James sent his guys around and took video showing the leaking geyser and full drip tray. A couple of other areas of concern have resulted in changes to materials at no cost to me. They jumped in and sorted out the problem geyser and I now await feedback from my insurer. I unreservedly apologise to James and his team for jumping the gun based on my two assumptions above and, as having three of their installations demonstrates, would recommend them for solar geyser installations into the future.
