Fees due for cancellation of registration

In 2023 I app**** to study at the University of Cape Town for the 2024 academic year. I went through the registration process and unfortunately, I could not get funding so I had to cancel my registration for that year.

Months later I was served with a letter saying that I owe fees for the cancelled modules. My question is - where will I get this money when initially I was looking to get funded for my studies. I have been handed over to FND Collections now and I’m not sure what to do because I have not ever studied at UCT. This is affecting me
