Even though the facilities are decent, and the soccer is fun, one can't help but feel unwelcome as a result of the attitude of the employees. Specifically, but not limited to, the man who is behind the bar most of the time. I am not sure what his name is, but he seems to have a chip on his shoulder every time we go there and treats his customers like they are an inconvenience. I am not sure what we did to receive such an attitude as we pitch, pay and play every week as a part of the ongoing leagues.

My weekend experience with Urban Soccer Hatfield. I had booked a party for my 10 year old at Urban Soccer Hatfield yesterday. Needless to say it was raining and the venue was double booked but nonetheless myself and the other mom made the most of it and it was a coincidence as we were all from the same school. We had no place to sit and I noticed an empty sofa where 2 young men were sitting. The guests were lingering around as there was no place to sit. I asked one of the workers if it is possible for us to sit there and I was told it's 'the boss' sofa. Needless to say I was in awe as we had hired the venue so I went to the boss to say I have guests we need to sit we are aware it's your property but we have rented out your facility else we could have had this occasion at home! The next thing I get a call from his girlfriend, who runs the bookings, interrogating me for asking her boyfriend to get off the sofa. My response was are we supposed to sit outside in the rain. While having this conversation some of the mothers tried to intervene and 'the boss' charged at them too. The irate young men went to his blue sports car and took a stash of cash asking how much we had paid. Counted the money from the stack at shoved it at my husband. For every situation there are two sides to a story. My side is a man with an incredible ego, that surpasses that which a so called child friendly place that hosts children's parties should be. He had the children removed from the field and that's that! We had a blast at home in the end thanks to an EXCEPTIONAL group of parents. So by all means do take your child there but be warned your party may be stopped dead in the middle if you dare ask for a place to sit from 'the boss'. The irony is the kids were happier playing on a wet muddy surface in the end, why we bother with venues after this experience I have no idea.
