I am a resident of 44 Monument Road Observation Hill Ladysmith, I have had a problem with the sewer (drain in the front yard) for 2 years straight now. The sewer is always blocked and floating near the gate and on the road which is absolutely disgusting and unhygienic. I was told to cut the trees in my yard as the roots were causing this problem and I did so but the problem still persists . I pay rates every month to live in such disgusting conditions, I have been sent from pillar to post sometimes being met by very rude call centre agents. I don't know what to do at this point in time, urgent assistance required immediately

I writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding a refund that has been outstanding since 31 August 2023. Despite numerous follow-up phone calls to your department, I have yet to receive the funds owed to me. Each time I call, I am transferred from one person to another, and unfortunately, no one is able to provide a resolution or clear information. As a pensioner, this delay is causing me significant financial distress. Additionally, I have relocated to Durban and am no longer able to travel to Ladysmith to follow up on this matter in person. I kindly request your urgent assistance in processing my refund without further delay. Please confirm the status of the refund and when I can expect the payment. I would also appreciate being assigned a specific contact person who can take responsibility for resolving this matter.

***********, unqualified and ******* individuals that have been employed. We have had no water for more than a month in the aloe park area , every single week there is a different story and problem as to why we cannot have running water in our taps yet we must pay each and every month for something thats never delivered to us. When will we have continuous running water in our taps ?

Hi, I would like to write this review on behalf of my parents. This review is for Uthukela Ladysmith. We give this company a zero rating. Two years ago we moved to Newcastle. We have been trying to get our deposit back from them since our house was sold in Ladysmith and moved to Newcastle. On 15.12.2021 email sent to accounts@uthukeladm.co.za, adminqueries@uthukeladm.co.za, credicontrol@uthukeladm.co.za and payments@uthukeladm.co.za informing the offices that we have been trying on numerous occasions to get hold of someone there to assist but to no avail. In the email we also informed them that our house is sold and requested for them to send us a deposit refund form for the credit due to us. We have not received any response on that email. Email sent 05.01.2022 - This email we referred to the email sent to them 15.12.2021 as we have not receive any response or calls from their offices. It was also mentioned in the email that we saw Mr. Yala on 21.12.2021 and he showed us on the system that there is a refund due to us. Mr Yala requested documents from us, we went to obtain the documents and upon returning to his office, we were informed that Mr. Yala was not available and we should leave the documents with the secretary as she will make sure he receives the documents. We have not heard anything from the offices. During the months that followed numerous phone calls were made however no success or any feedback. 28.07.2022 - Again an email was sent to accounts@uthukela.co.za requesting for assistance with regards to the refund due to us. 29.07.2022 - Email sent to same email address requesting urgent feedback with regards to all the previous emails sent through to them in connection with the refund due. 14.09.2022 - On 09.09.2022 we spoke to Thys with regards to the outstanding refund due to us. He gave us his email address to sent him an email explaining the situation. Email was sent to him, however, like all the other emails, we have not receive any feedback, very disappointing. In all the emails sent to all the different email addresses our contact details was always attached, but there was not one person that actually did phone us to try and resolve this matter. 29.11.2023 - We decided to drive through to Ladysmith again to go to the office and try to get some answers. What a shocking discovery we made when we entered the building. The security at the door was sitting at his table with his phone on the table and watching ****, not hiding it, but open for everyone to see what he is busy doing on his phone. What type of employees are working here at this office, seriously, this is disrespectful to the public. We went inside and was directed to the office of Mr. Siya Nkehli, Room G-42, Senior Billing Officer, however, he was not available, nothing new from the past experiences. His secretary took all our details and assured us that Mr. Siya will contact us with regards to the refund, up until now, still waiting for that phone call. Long story short, our question: How are we suppose to get our refund back, this has been dragging on for too long and we would like to get this resolved. Who are we suppose to contact that will actually assist us and not just make empty promises? Is there no one in these offices that is actually doing their job anymore, are they only there for the money and not interested in helping the public? Why should one struggle like this to get what is due to you? This is pathetic and unacceptable and the worst service ever!!!!!

Iam Bongiwe Simelane, who sold the property in October 2021, I was referred to Uthukela District Municipality to submit my ID document and bank statement by atternoys so that I can get my water refund instalation by municipality. I did that .when I made follow up they said they will process my application,they said I must resubmit my documents. I resubmitted.I phoned several times no one assisted me.I personally went to finance CEO ,she refered me to Siya (senior Billing Officer) he said I must re email my documents again. After that they will process my application. I did that.but upto this far no payment has been made to me.In June 2022 I went there again to make follow up , the lady Phamela Mbanjwa( billing Officer) said , I must wait because .His supervisor Siya was not in the office.I requested the number for Municipal Manager ,they said they do not have the number.so now I feel that the municipality is not doing justice and the treatement I got there was not good .I request Hellopeter to intervene so that I will be able to receive my refund from the municipality.Phamela Mbanjwa and Siya knows my story.I emailed my documents to Phamela instructed by Siya my but she never responded.The last time I visited thier offie was in July 2022 where I found Phamela who said to me "its still early for me to get my refund ,I said to her how long will it take , she said she do not know.Hellopetter kindly assist me .I heared by Hellopeter on facebook and Hellopeter once assisted me .

Yet again another municipality in the limelight for the wrong reasons. My parents sold up their property in the Uthukela District Municipality in 2019 and moved out in January 2020. My dad applied for his refund for deposit he put for utilities the same year 2020. He was informed that the refund will be given within thirty(30) days. One(1) year and five(5) months later and he is still waiting. Every time he makes an enquiry, he is told that they will look into the matter and get back to him. Instead of a refund they send him a utility bill for a reading on 23 April 2020, when in actual fact he was already residing at their new property in Durban. Their property in the Uthukela district was sold and the new owners took occupation in January 2020. When he made a recent enquiry the person on the line told him to just stop complaining and pay the bill. Both my parents are on old age pension and this practice by the Uthukela municipality is atrocious and the fact that they refuse to refund my dad his deposit shows how deep rooted corruption is in many municipalities in the country. I always thought that this sort of practice will stamped out by the government, but allice this is not the case. When will they stop running the country down, is there any accountability or oversight.

I paid my water account on the 28th of March at an easy pay station and due to this it only shows on my account as being paid on the 1st of April. Due to this I was charged R8 interest. On my account was a R100 deposit increase and a R98.32 \admin fee". When I queried this I was told it was because I did not comply with sending proof of payment.<br> I feel like I'm being robbed being made to pay R200 extra on my next account because my payment shows one day after month end :( are they really allowed to make charges like this?"""
