Stuck between a rock and Venturenet
*Update*
Just been told "F** you, change your attitude, I will not come sort out your internet issue" by the ever professional John of VentureNet. This happened after I have been accused of not knowing that there is an ethernet port in my Apple Mac, even though there isnt. I have had to resort to sending pictures of my ports to the part owner or what ever he may be to Venturenet in order to prove that I dont have an ethernet connection in my laptop or adaptor. Why are they asking for this you ask? Well its because they want me to try and sort out the issue telephonically even though they have expressly noted to me, even in email that it is apparently a hardware issue??? In any case, I was also asked by Daniella to try and download a program, I assume a teamviewer type program perhaps, so that they can try and sort it out remotely, forgetting that the internet actually doesnt work therefore making that task relatively impossible. Furthermore, I have been promised that a technician would come out on the 14th and today is the 20th. What can I do.

Thank you for contacting us again today. The finding were that the line speed is 100% as you witnessed, and the cause of your problem was your wifes computer that was downloading movies using a torrent manager that utilized all your bandwidth. Once you cooperated it was quickly solved.

21 Apr 2020, 06:10So this is just a horrible excuse amongst myriads of other excuses. Blaming the web-based torrent application for a complete lack of internet service is laughable. Please note that previously they had stated without a doubt that it was the hardware. As of right now I am downloading and the internet is working fine. How is it that it supposedly had such an impact on the internet then and not now. Its also never ever been a problem with other service providers. To be honest I am embarrassed for them if they honestly think that that is how the internet works and that was the issue with my intermittent service. Its embarrassing that they have resorted to this sorry excuse as a reason for their dreadful service. No apology or nothing whatsoever for their total lack of professionalism, no apology for accusing me of supposedly not knowing my own features of my own computer due to my new technology being different from their ancient technology that they are using. Comparable to a totalitarian state to which, under the circumstances of the lockdown, I remain a prisoner. On a side note. Internet is working fine and consistently for the first time since I have arrived here in February, lets hope it stays that way as I would rather die a slow horrible death from coronavirus than try and interact with the verbal abuse and threats of this company who obviously think they are Microsoft or Google or something.
