Highly disgusted!!! We stood in front of their door 15min after they closed with an emergency. Literally holding our doggy with blood running down her face. Although staff was still there they did not even try to help all they did is say “sorry we’re closed” I’m completely shocked!!!

Be aware of Vorna Valley Vet. Le Roux Str Midrand. Took my dog for a sterilization after being told by the same vet 2 weeks prior that she was not pregnant. They did it and when i went to collect that evening after not getting a call all day or even a feedback call the lady behind the counter told me "oh by the way she was pregnant" but not to worry they put the puppies down. Horrified i rushed to pay and get my dogs out of there.By the way i never even got a run down of any after care ect. Was just told to bring them back after 10 days to remove the stitches. The next day i called after a really bad night with my babies to ask to speak to the owner who was WENDY. I asked her why they never picked up that my dog was pregnant before the operation and why i was not called to make the decision myself once they saw she was pregnant after just opening her up. (2 week prior i was told by the same vet that she was not pregnant) She also presented with swollen teets and was told that this is normal to present like this after being on heat. They never asked me if i wanted to scan even to make 100% sure as i was assured that there was no pregnancy. WENDY the owner then also proceeded to tell me the same story that they only saw once she had been opened up and that it was no use to call as they had too little chance (Not no chance) of survival. So they put the puppies down and cremated them. The answer to me is that they couldn't see she was pregnant ???? What vet cannot see in a 45kg dog that she was over 3 weeks pregnant ??????? They made all the call by themselves without any consultation with me and never even called me after to explain. After an argument and threats of taking it further the VET himself decided to call me almost 24hrs later stating that he couldn't call me because he had a really long day (He left at 16h00) and that he couldn't see a pregnancy or didn't believe that by his previous chats with us or by how she looked that day and by his previous time he saw her 2 weeks prior or by her swollen teets in HIS Opinion and as a professional Vet couldn't see a pregnancy. He also told me that his staff and Wendy the owner gave me false information and that they were not puppies about three and a half weeks old but just few fetuses that had very little chance of survival so in his opinion it was better to terminate. No choice or calls to me at any time to decide. Only an apology for his staff who he said needs training and for not calling me after his very busy day that finished at 16h00. Hardly gave me any time to talk and shut down everything i tried to say. NOW IN MY OPINION. If i was anyone who loved animals i would never use these people again. This to me and everyone i have spoken to is not ethical practice. PS. Waiting for the SPCA MIDRAND inspector to give me feedback from there investigation.
