I purchased a phone from Takealot that turned out to be faulty and network-blocked. I submitted a return claim, fully expecting a replacement or refund. Now, Takealot is refusing to process my claim simply because I no longer have the charging cable.
This is completely unacceptable. The issue isn’t the charger—it’s that the device they sold was not fit for purpose. A missing accessory should never prevent a refund or replacement when the product itself is faulty. I trusted Takealot to sell me a legitimate device. Instead, I’m being penalized for their mistake. I’ve lost all trust in buying devices from them. I’m demanding a full refund.
Buyer beware: Takealot will try to shift responsibility and find any reason to avoid refunding faulty products.
