Poor communication, lack of action and performance
If you ever think of using WatchProp as a Managing agent for your complex, think again: After the wind storm of 6-7 April in Somerset West, I wrote a lengthy email to WatchProp delineating the damage and problems experience(d) as a result of the storm. In particular the barrier fence between my and the neighbour’s unit collapsed. WatchProp responded that a quote will be obtained for replacing the fence. However I wrote lengthy emails regarding their lack of communication and performance on 23 and 30 April. The first response from WatchProp on the issues raised in my initial email was received FOUR WEEKS after the initial email. However, their email provided no definite action plan. They only made promises. I immediately responded complaining about the lack from progress on their side.
The final communication to WatchProp was on 10 May where I simply asked them to tell me when the fence will be replaced. I am still waiting for a response.
It is now SEVEN WEEKS after the storm and my initial email to WatchProp and I am still waiting for them to do anything, especially as far as the fence is concerned.

30 May 2024, 06:02Please refer to subsequent communication with the portfolio manager. It should be noted that the matter referred to is related to storm damage to a wooden fence between two units. Said fence was erected by owner/s and not the community scheme.
A claim was submitted to the insurance and the outcome was communicated to the trustees after the 10th May (not the owner at the time, as we required trustee feedback in terms of insurance outcome). The matter was referred back to the insurers as there were 3 claims in total and not only this section. The Trustees requested that the insurance look at this as one claim with 1 excess. We are awaiting for feedback from the insurance. A meeting has been scheduled for Monday 3 June 2024 with insurance who is coming to do a site survey. As arranged, your property will also be inspected. We never neglected attending to this matter. Whilst our involvement is administrative, we did communicate all findings to the trustees committee as noted in subsequent communication.
